I was reading the report on the first day's play between India and Pakistan, and it is obvious that you either did not see the action, or you know nothing about the game you are writing about. Zaheer Khan bowled an excellent spell first up, and came close to getting both openers on multiple occasions, whereas Pathan looked completely off-color. The fact is, Pathan was more economic simply because most of his deliveries were way outside the stumps. You just looked at the scores, saw that Zaheer gave away 39 runs in his first spell (of course, since you never saw the game, you didn't know that many of the runs were from edges to vacant thirdman), and filed that obnoxious "report".
This report is just awful. The past match reports from Prem/Faisal used to be really good and would try to explain in detail all the highlights of the match. In particular they will make sure to write in detail how each person got out or was continuously beaten by the ball. This report has absolutely no quality, and for people who cannot watch games on the TV and depend on these match reports, the writer has done a real bad job. I think rediff should change their match reporter at the earliest.
Read this: " Kumble, India's leading wicket-taker for India in Tests, displayed his guile as she got one to spin away from the right-hander after lulling him with a few straighter deliveries. " India's .. for India ??? and SHE referring to Kumble? What is happening? Why is some one in such a hurry???
I usually don't comment on reports - but this report was not only inaccurate but also it ignored some very obvious aspects of today's game. Pathan was rusty in the beginning by bowling two wides... Zaheer was much better than Pathan in the beginning by beating the batsmen three consecutive times in his first over. Pathan bowled Salman Butt with an Outswinger not an Inswinger..
Lot of others - would suggest someone else who watched the match, doesn't have prejudices, and knows cricket to write the report.
I have a question? Since when did Kumble become a "she". One line in the article read as follows: Kumble, India's leading wicket-taker for India in Tests, displayed his guile as "she" got one to spin away from the right-hander after lulling him with a few straighter deliveries. It is important to proof read the text before uploading the match report on the web. Rediff has a reputation to keep. Another mistake: The first morning went as per India's script as the home team was able to reduce Pakistan to?1 for three before lunch. What is that "?" suppose to mean.
"Kumble, India's leading wicket-taker for India in Tests, displayed his guile as she got one to spin away from the right-hander after lulling him with a few straighter deliveries."
Proof Read the articles before you post them!!! Suckers!!!
