I am surprised by the faith shown by the indian captain in VVS Laxman. I thing it is more shocking for the fans who knows the game well. VVS laxman has proved unsuccessful in last series against Australia except for the last match in Mumbai. But that has happened with him even in the past. He scores run in only an inning and pur selector/captains take it as a good performance and select him for the next series. I do't see any plus points in him. He lacks motivation level required for the international game. VVS's footwork is know to everyone. The player with such a long career is not expected to repeat the mistakes and get out consistantly without scoring. I feel he should be shown doors. Otherwise how some of the young players will get an opportunity and exposure to international cricket. As per the TV news on team selection only Ganguly must be blaimed for what happened with the kaif. He is in good form and has proved himself against Australia and during domestic matches. Ganguly's faith in Yuvraj is a result of personal bias and nothing else. If this continues we don't expect any imrovement in the performance of the team and Ganguly may loose respect if he continue like this.
which batsman in the "star-studded" indian line-up will team india rely on in a particular series has been a favorite topic for media,fans and now i see the captain invloved in such a discussion too. It would be logical to say that the captain points his finger/calls out loud , saying "MR.X" would be the person he relies/expects to perform as the ace of indian team , if the captain was a bowler and not very comfortable with the bat.Irony here with our team is , DADA is supposed to be a batsman.I have never seen an interview or a column which says he wants to put his hand up and lead the team from the front by playing as a batsman which is his primary job and then comes leading the team.If he can play well as a batsman that will be the best example of leading from the front rather than just pointing out to some one and saying " hey we rely on you to get the job done". Stop pointing out about how other captains have performed.. you don't want to be one among those who have not performed, be one among the two who have performed, ponting and yourself.. is what i would like to see.I am sure media,fans and the captain himself would like that situation better. GO DADA ..DO IT.

I think Ganguly did the right thing by saying Laxman could be the Indian ace specially when a player come back from injury to motivate him externally as well as internally. Again Ganguly have never mentioned that the team is only rely on Laxman. Again Ganguly proved himself lot of time as well as good batsman and as a captain. So, being an Indian we should support the team mentally so that they can give their best in the field. So, better if we pray for Indian team to well play.
