Does that mean that a batsman could be substituted when he is at the crease? Eg:- A batsman at the crease is not able to put quick runs, so could the team call him back and substitute a hard hitter?
This will potentially allow all 12 members to bat at a single innings.
It is nice that the ICC is trying hard to improve the popularity of Cricket in many countries. But the proposed changes probably wont go a long way coz they r a bit too confusing for the players and the captain of the fielding side will have to calculate too many things in mind at a time.First of all the captains r under pressure all the time and with these changes being imposed, they will have a really tuff time on the field. Anyway, these kind of changes might succeed luckily, but the current way is apt for modern day cricket,in my opinion.
Will this mean a team batting first can pack its side with batsmen in the first half and replace some of them (or all) with top bowlers and fielders???
From the wording of the media reports, there is nothing that suggests this will NOT be permitted!!
