In a Country like India which has alot of talent and has ted in the world cricket has failed to give a fast bowler allrounder from a last one Decade.The Players who were Heroes of 1983 Worldcup were mostly the allrounders like Kapil Dev,Roger Binny,Mohinder Amarnath,Madanlal who were the Thorns For the Opposition.
We are already having a long list of fast bowlers(like Yohanan,Kumaran,Siddiqi,Munaf patel etc)who were introduced in the team as great prospect. But because of the Inconsistent selection policies adapted by our rutheless selectors all of them have faded.
One does hopes that, Gangandeep name wont be included in this list.
What has happened to Munaf Patel?Two years back he was the fastest bowler in India,clocking 150KMPH regularly.Must have fallen prey to the selectors' whims.
Gagandeep is a swing bowler and not any kind of pace hope/sensation. He takes bulks of his wicket around December and January. He is accurate but if Mohanty could not get considered for tours to NZ and Eng, then there is little hope for Gagan.
