I think Kapil shud not have said anything about Sachin
by rohan on Jun 21, 2005 07:20 PM

I sincerely believe that Mr Kapil Dev,who once was the greatest Fast Bowler the country produced, shud not have talked about Sachin Tendulkar like this.He might b 32 years old,but he still has a big role in the team.Kapil seems 2 suggest him indirectyly that Sachin must retire, which is surely not gud for Indian cricket.Sachin must b ine the team for atleast3-4 more years,as his experience can take the youngsters in the team a long way.
Having played alongside Tendulkar for 4-5 years,Kapil must not talk like this, bcoz Sachin will feel that he has been let down by his own once-upon-a-time team mate!

It's very unfortunate to heard such comments from our respeted world class all-rounder. Is he trying to challenge sachin for his capabilities. I sorry to say, Kapil it is not expected from you. I personally believe in Sachin. We know he will come up, to show you & to all that he is the BEST. That's why he is our GOD. We love you Sachin. All the very best & get weel soon. We want you to serve for India for many more years to come. Love you.

Is Sachin as bad as Kapil thinks?
by Kalpana on Jun 21, 2005 06:19 PM

Why doesn't Kapil dev look at the average run rate of all the other players and compare it with Sachin's and then make a comment. As I have noticed, the average run rate of Sachin Tendulkar is far batter than all of the other players except for Murali Karthik. Just because Sachin is 32 it's not fair to expect him to retire from International cricket. I remember very well as Azharuddin, KApil Dev, Ravi Sastry etc. coming into the pitch standing at the wickets longer and getting out without even adding double figure runs to the score. Ofcourse, it looks good if Sachin retires when he hasn'tlost good impression. But then, just the existence of Sachin in the team boosts many player's confidence. anyway, Sachin should be given more chance to improve himself.

Best of Sachin is gone !!
by Vikrant on Jun 21, 2005 06:02 PM

Hi,

I totally agree with Mr. Kapil - the greatest of all cricketers in India ever becos the way Mr. Tendulkar is playing now a days in some of the recent matches it clearly shows that he has lot the hunger for the game & he is just trying to stay on the grease as long as possible & once dynamic Sachin is gone & it is really boring to watch sachin play when compared to guys like Mr. Virender Sehwag.

Rgds,
Vikrant

how about u mr. kapil.
by ashish shekhar on Jun 21, 2005 05:30 PM

i agree to some extent with what kapil said. Tendulkar is well past his prime n cant bat the way he used to. His ability to murder the bowling attack is over. However he is a great player and even with this kind of form he is better than most of the players and an asset to the team in absloute terms. he is in no way burden on the team and team india still needs him. one may compare his batting performance with others to have a better idea. Mr. kapil please stop motivating tendulkar to call it a day and think of ur playing days. please recall the way u choose to hang on with team despite not able to perform for your last 3-4 years.

Best of sachin is gone - kapil
by Satish Godse on Jun 21, 2005 05:22 PM

I admire kapil very much, but i differ on his views on sachin, sachin best is yet to come, he is just 32 and he can play easily for 4-5 years. so Mr Kapil wait and watch for sachin. he will make atleast 10-12 test hundreds and many more one day hundreds take it from me.
