Get Well Soon Sachin
by Saravana on Jun 07, 2005 08:31 AM

Hi,
Sachin get well soon and comeback to Indian Cricket Team. You are the best in the world. No matter what people say, probably they have forgotten the 10 years of your contribution to the Indian team and to the Cricket world. They are focused only on last 10 -15 odd matches. These people are like chamilion does change colour when things go wrong. You are the best in the world and we are proud of you.

GET WELL SOON.

Need not treat him as god...treat him with mankind
by Shankar on Jun 07, 2005 08:09 AM

In all foreign countries people would appreciate if they would something 10% great of what sachin has did. Bradman has appreciated him and he don't need some dumbo people's comments. If people who really know abc of cricket should treat him atleast with mankind. noone is god and everyone make mistakes. he would definitely going to come stronger one day and the same people would appreciate him. So Stop commenting and pray for his speedy recovery. Our Faith can bring wonders ... you can believe this if you are a real Indian

Sachin's return
by Samir on Jun 07, 2005 03:43 AM

These comments show the frustrated and jealous people launching a tirade against Sachin. Perhaps the editor has posted only selected comments. Sachin is human after all and people are writing as its his fault that he has injuries. They forget that these injuries are from playing cricket for India. Also inspite of injuries he still has a lot of potential then many of the current players in the squad.

Give me a break
by Chaitanya on Jun 07, 2005 12:07 AM

This is the probelm with us. If a guy doesnt perform well in a season, we conclude that he is not fit to play the game anymore. If the same rule is applied to all the players in the team now, other than Dravid, everyone else should be out of the team.

Tendulkar will be out of action for most of 2005. I strongly believe that he will make a comeback just like Lara. I hope he recovers soon and sets unreachable records, and contributes to many more victories for India. My only wish is to see him score a double century in ODIs and silence all the critics.

Surprised at the fickel attitude
by praveen on Jun 06, 2005 10:10 PM  | Hide replies

One can't but feel sorry for the fickle attitude
displayed by the Indian public against Sachin.
What he has acheived is not in the realm of mere
mortals. We must consider ourselves fortunate to
have been able to see Sachin in his playing days.
Nowthat his role is that of a senior member of the
side, one can't expect him to slam bang
thorughout his innings. The country should bid
him a fond farewell when his time to retire does
arrive which is anyway a good five years away,
rather than wonder what he is still doing in the
side. A single man carried the hopes of an entire
nation on his shoulders with utmost class and
dignity for an entire decade. Let's keep our
mouth
shut at least if we cannot acknowledge his
services to the country.

To Sachin fans: Don't just go on and on saying he has done so much for the country, carried the entire team on his shoulders etc. Don't just go by his statistics (which are staggering any way) and get sentimental. No one in his right mind expects Sachin to play with the gay abandon of a 16 year old. Unfortunately he is not playing with the maturity expected of a guy with so much experience either. The fact is that Sachin has never excelled in crunch situations and chances are bleak that he would in the future. Yes he did win a lot of matches (especially ODIs) for India, but how many of them are really worth mentioning like say a World Cup knock-out match, important cup semis/final? He is very good at decimating weak or medium quality attacks, but you throw in a couple of quality bowlers like McGrath and Sachin is all at sea. This is where his contemporaries like our own Dravid, Lara, Inzamam score brownie points. Yes Sachin has the stamina and talent to go on for a few more years, but does it really help Team India in the long run? Or is it just to inflate his already stupendous statistics?
