Ganguly

I think there is lot more left in Ganguly as a dangerous batsman. He just has to concentrate on his batting and come back to his terriffic form. For time being let him sit out of captaining a emotional side like INDIA and let Dravid lead the Team.Because at this point of time DADA needs some mental rest to keep himself out of BCCI and Media critics. No point putting down DADA as \"its time for him to go\" or Dravid as \"no a tough captain\".Every Captian has got their own ways of leading the Team.So leave Dravid/Chappell combination alone and let them prove for sometime and then let Ganguly come.He has got 4 more yrs of cricket left.......what say GUYS......

Bad patch can't be for 2-3 yrs

Anybody having doubt b't Dada or Tendular don't understand C of Cricket. Dada is the best and is the only hope of India to get second World Cup to India.

There is no second Tenduldar and no Second Dada and these two are born to get second World Cup for India.

My suggestions to Indian fans around the world is that don't panic and don't create hype or make any new comers Heros just coz our big guns are not firing.. Give them time and they will deliver its just matter of time.. So just wait and watch and prey for the best..

Best of luck to Dada and Tendulkar.

Panks.

Bad patch for the Tiger
by Rajiv on Aug 10, 2005 12:11 PM

Bengal tiger is a great batsman. He should go back to domestic cricket and iron out some technical faults and come back to I'national cricket in style. Why was his technique not corrected by John W who himself was a left hander?
India cannot afford a non performer at any stage.

gangulys form

I think all this blame on Sourav is unfair. Just because he has had 1 bad season, everyone turns agianst him. People forget how he has turned indian cricket around.. He has over 10000 runs in ODI's... i just think that the indian fans r 2 harsh on him..

Ganguly without captaincy
by rocky on Jul 28, 2005 12:48 AM

May be he performs better if he is not a captain. Since the selectors want to show him some respect, it would be good if they let him be in the team but select a different captain. They also must not worry about how he feels of his dethroning. If he fails to perform even then, then the selectors know what to do next. If someone has attitude problems dominating his zeal to win a match for the country, then he is not fit to be in the team. As somebody mentioned, we want match winning players. Opponents will not lose a match for you just because your team has a bunch of players with great records on book. Anyway, I wish Ganguly good luck.

S. Ganguly- Bad Patch can't be for 2-3 years.
by Joe Britto on Jul 21, 2005 05:55 PM

All great players who are natural cricketers will pass through a lean patch. We have seen cricketers like Mohinder Amarnath , Gavaskar, Pataudi to name a few who have regained form after several failures.

The problem lies with the wide media coverage and constant adverse reports have a further psychological affect on the game of the cricketer.

Give Saurav a reasonable chance and he is bound to come back with a bang.
The short stint in England with Glamorgan has already done him a world of good.

In fact we would expect him to come back with bang
and hit a century !!
and may be a row of centuries !!!!!!!!!

YEAH SOU ROW !!!

Cricketing form, charecters & Saurav
by Venkataraman Balaji on Jul 20, 2005 08:43 PM

Saurav scored multiples of 1000 runs on benchmark number of innings. At 7000, 8000 marks he was 7 to 10 matches ahead of Sachin. Even now with 33 adrift, he is fairly more than a notch ahead of Inzy if you take into account of players with 10000+ in ODIs. Also his 150+ sixes at 40+ average is paralled only by Sir Viv. Statistics may not speak truth, but it would not lie either.

Saurav's score in county in seaming condition, a century at more than par rate on first class game, and to recent 50+ at 40+ balls speak testimony to the player who has won 30+ times Man of Match.

I only wonder if he had been around since 1991 when he made his debut, because of awful selection policies, a player his calibre had to make a comeback in 1996, he lost 4-5 years when he scored loads of runs for Bengal, it could have been runs for India, 4-5 years means at least 3000 runs, means on equal terms with much celebrated and the one and only Sachin. It is preposterous to comment on ability of Saurav rather, we should extend him the privelege of timing his retirement. Let us not again kill a rare sporting character before it is truly and really ripe.

we need match winning palyers.....
by raj on Jul 20, 2005 06:12 PM

even if u are a great palyer if not performing well at international level should be excluded from team. cos we dont have match winning players. sachin and ganguly contributed well with their bat but still india cantt win world cup. so we need match winning players not players who score 10000 runs.

players shud be given chance on the basis of performance and not on the basis of seniority or regionality.

otherwise the indian team is going to sink for ever.
