The new rules from ICC of ODI cricket are ridiculous. They will not help the game anyway but rather will make it complicated. The rule of substitution is particularly strange. For example, if England would have been batted first then noway they Vikram Solanki could have helped if they would have been 6 wickets down for 100 since to use the substitute they must sacrifice one of their key bowlers.
ICC, rather... why don't you think of international 20-20. That could be much more interesting. Gaurang.
well are the statisticians are sleeping till date , ICC has announced the change of rule far back in the time-line.. i think at least 4 or 5 months back .. it is a sufficient time if they have worked on their Programs, software's and there rules , now saying that is a foolish thing .. itself gives your mind impression over hear , Amaranth has told that it is a bunch of Jokers and you accepts ? tell me one thing do you really know that who are the pplz sitting on ICC , i am not aware about there personal details but sure that they are experienced and well know persons in Cricket world , why you peoples are not try to understand the nature of game .. if ICC wants it to be more exciting and intelligent then what's the problem in testing .. this is NOT the last thing .. this change is being implemented for 10 months only , if then the players and the teams finds it cool then only this will be adopted finally let the players on the ground choose or reject it .. not the single line of fools sitting in-front of TV Set's cheers Sudeep sakalle

Statistics is and will be part of every sport, unless we consider each game played as sepearate one.
And considerig that way is highly impossible as we just don't watch ad forget the game. We always link the game with Team's and individual performance.
Statistics is necessary not only for record keeping but also for intelligience decision making in future.
hellow santosh i am sending you some new rules made by the icc in oneday international cricket matches only. its easy but not that much easy. plz read thoughly and follow the rules when you play oneday games in your states. thanx bye
With reference to the above discussion, i would like to point out to another problem that can arise due to the new rules. It is none other than yet another modification of the Duckworth-Lewis Rule (which was modified last year). This modification will have to be taken into consideration with how the field restricted overs are presented to the batting team(which is under control of the fielding team). And the ICC seems to ignore this fact, and is waiting for yet another controversy to erupt( might be again with South Africa during yet another world cup)
Just b'coz ICC is chaired by some so called visionaries, it doesn't have the right to meddle with the long standing rules that have governed the game since its inception. With the present substitution rules coming into effect, its very difficult to merge and correlate a players personal record before and after the rule coming into play. It will definitely affect the stats of players especially all-rounders who generally will be the preferred substitutions. Just some one needs to speak some sense into the heads of the heads.
