No one wants him!
by C.N. Shankar on Jul 07, 2005 04:18 AM

I respect Kapil Dev's humanitarian values and his contribution to Indian Cricket. Nevertheless I must have my say against his ability to become a coach. Does any one believe that Kapil is a 'Contender' for the Job of a Coach to any National Team?

Kapil - Coach of Foreign Teams
by Shrikant Dharap on Jul 06, 2005 08:36 PM

Just couple of things - ( My comments are based on what I read. I read that Kapil was talking about Sachin retiring in time, like now. If that is not true, then comments are out of league.)

It is sad to see such a great player making such pitiful comments. Dear Kapil, foreign teams won't want you either. If what I read is true, you talked about Scahin and retirement. Every foreign team would have him in their team for the next 5 years, barring injury, no matter what.

Since you talk of his retirement, no foregin team would want a coach who does not appreciate his own countrymen. How would they expect you to respect their players? No chance Kapil. I do wish that you retract your statement and do become a coach for younger all rounders. Cricket is bigger than a countries that play it. Hence it would be great if anyone in cricketing world benefits from your expertise. That way all of us will benefit too since we won't have to read such painful comments from you.

Cheers

Kapil's comments are laughable
by V.A.N. Dhubala Singh on Jul 06, 2005 07:16 PM

Kapil's comments are laughable. First of all no meaningful international team is looking for his service. He was complete failure as a coach of India. He is simply not a coaching material. There is not even an iota of doubt that he was marvellous as a player (although he could have worked much better on his retirement). Coaching requires a different kind of temperament. It is better that Kapil doesn't make such a silly announcement to be in the news.

Kapil's statement
by Yogesh Hasabnis on Jul 06, 2005 06:18 PM

I doubt whether any foreign team would ever offer Kapil a job as a coach ! He was a great cricketer but a very poor thinker of the game.
