Those days when the number of Test playing countries was just 4 or 5, and hardly 1 or 2 series would be played in a single year , it was indeed a great achievment to even have played 2 or 3 test matches.
Only the lucky cricketers could play more than 10 tests in the entire career. So Baloo Gupte 3 tests although not statically vital, provided the cricket lovers a glimpse of genuine leg spin. The entire cricketing world was aware of his prowess.
