Why is BCCI blindly supporting Ganguly?

Why can't Ganguly keep quiet and sit tight? Why he has to make a laughing stock of himself and put Indian cricket into humiliation by lodging appeal after appeal after appeal? When will his pride that, he's above law and very close to God, fall? He has only 2 more matches left to sit and then he'll be back (hopefully, for all Indian cricket fans, not for very long!) to show his tremendous form. So, what's his problem then?
And, what bewilders me most is: why is the BCCI backing him so frantically? I'm sure any other prominent cricketer, even Dravid, would not have received such dedicated, blind backing from BCCI. Is it because he's the prince of Kolkata and his infamous father Chandi Ganguly has long and deep ties with BCCI and elsewhere (ties that, in fact, helped bring in Saurav to Indian team in the first place, though he was an average performer then).

Its rediculous to ask y BCCI is blindly supporting Ganguly. I am an NRI and i have observed that when it comes to customer service, Indians always have a double standard. They serve the whites far better than they server their fellaw country men. You need to have a bit of patriotism in u mate. if this problem was for an aussie, their country would back their player whole heartedly. no one would question it. be ashamed to even to ask y a country should back its player who have served the country for so long.
