First, ICC should drop Lloyd for his bias towards non-Asian players. If Saurav Ganguly was in Vaughan position, then Lloyd would have not only fined of his match fees but also wouldn't have allowed Ganguly to play the test matches. I sincerely request to drop Lloyd from respected position (of match referee). This isn't the first time he is doing like this...
I always felt that these Englishmen and Australians get away with murder. I am sure if it were to be Ganguly, the same Lloyd would have banned him for at least one test. Even Lloyd is scared of ICC (where both England and Australia have clout) and that is why he had given Vaughan a lesser punishment.
Ask any Asian. He will tell you what he thinks of Clive Lloyd. If a Captain has a 'grouse' against the Umpire(s) or the Match Referee all that he is allowed to do is make it known to the Authorities through his Confidential reports. However we find here the Match Referee going to the Press, The Cape Argus. How come there are two sets of rules?
It is somewhat amusing to hear this from Lloyd. If he has been really rude to Lloyd, Vaughan deserves congratulations. We in India know what Lloyd and his countryman Bucknor have been doing to cricket. They have repeated their performance in the Test series between England and South Africa.
Regardless of whether Vaughan was wrongly rude, Lloyd is forgetting that the offence he was hearing was different. In other words, Lloyd has sentenced Vaughan for the wrong (alleged) crime. If Vaughan is to be tried for his alleged rudeness towards Lloyd, it cannot be done by Lloyd himself. He cannot be plaintiff and judge at the same time.
While Lloyd comments on the behaviour of Vaughan what was he when he was a captain and travelled India during 1977 always complaining about the Indian umpires and venues. That period He was the same as Vaughan today.
ICC and Mr Lloyd should think why captains are having problem with Mr Lloyd. It happened with Ganguly and now Vaughan. Can Mr Lloyd escape the fact that he himself is arrogant as was amply displayed during his cricket days and carries the same attitude in thedisciplinary hearings.
