Great player

"There are many cricket grounds in the world which have been in existence for over 100 years, but none of them could do what this ground has achieved," said Azharuddin, whose highest one-day knock was 108 against Sri Lanka in 1990.

Please do a double check on that his highest score is more than what you have written, a class player ,an all time great..

Muscleless Mani
by C.N. Shankar on Jan 29, 2005 05:23 AM

This Gentleman Mani is supposed to be the Number One person for All that can be said of Cricket Establishments in the World. Does he have any Power?
Why this Question now? Remember the time there was this News that Australia will cancel its trip to India if BCCI can not provide LIVE TV signals for beaming to the Australian Viewers. This was said because it was part of the ICC regulations!

Why Mani can not get another "Ruling" that No 'Banned' Player should be contracted to do Commentary on Tv? Incidentally why isn't there a ruling from the Court even after 4 years?

Azhar's highest one day international score is 153 not out against Zimbabwe at Cuttack in 1997 and not 108 as reported by you.

Two persons have pointed out the Mistake in the Article. The correct date of the Match is 9th April 1998. Azhar was the Captain and he shared the unfinished partnership of 275 with Ajay Jadeja who came at the fall of the third wicket with the score at 26 and scored a Century himself. Ganguly. Sachin and Laxman were already back in the Pavillion!

Azhar's every inch right!!
by Haris on Jan 28, 2005 05:24 PM

ICC has SUCH a strong biasm against the ASIANS..especially Indians! No doubt Azhar was not the cleanest of all cricketers, but he was A LIVING LEGEND until the unfortunate black-hap! Take the rest of the gang...say Herschelle Gibbs or watever...ICC gets it done and over with quickly...but man the INDIAN SUBCONTINENT folks get a biased treatment in just about every other issue!

Azhar might not be legally allowed to actively "play" cricket...but hez very right on the point that ICC has no way got the right to rule over his livelihood...

Shame on you Ehsan Mani, for your ludicrous remarks!!

its funny of bcci
by mohammed ajmal ahmed on Jan 28, 2005 05:19 PM

i never made comments on bcci but today i am writing what bcci wants i dont know and leave that icc... even in all cericket playing countries fixing is there still even a kid can understand seeing the matches and so many players were invovled from the other countries but there boards leave the players saying that they r not involve the board of those countries didn't make a life banned like bcci did against azhar and a little ban on jadeja, i dont know what kind of board is this of india even in australia west indies and i can say so many palyers from different different cricket playing countries were involved.... but the bcci ah i just dont want to say any thing more, at least now when so many new guys are coming bcci can appoint azhar as a coach of indian crikcet team. bcci should think of azhar who has been a gr8 cricketer a gr8 captain in indian cricket history, a fit player physically and mentally so now the bcci have to think, y bcci is spending lot of money for the foreign coach.
