It is really unfortunate that we Indians always tend to create issues where non are required.Personally speaking, what difference does a Tricolor on the helmet, or anywhere else, matter? The respect for one's country is in the heart and minds of its citizens. Americans have their Stars & Stripes printed on their underwears. Does it make them less patriotic? We Indians, nowadays, don't even bother to stand up when the National Anthem is playing. We should get beyond all these non-issues.
As per BCCI own admission the players are not representing INDIA. They represent a private club registered outside INDIA called BCCI. Thus the players representing BCCI or in turn MR Dalmiya has no right to use National Flag .
i just read the article on the centre banning the use of national tricolor on the uniforms and helmets of the cricket players. i wanted to ask if this ban is for all the sporting personalities in all fields of sport. if yes that means narayan karthiken whos just became the 1st indian to enter the f1 will also have to change his helmet decorations as his helmet shows the national tricolor with ashok chakra on the top. please send me a mail regarding this information. thanx
If using the tri color on the helmet of crickters is such a big issue...then why allow others... why aint the politicians creating a stink about Narain Kartikeyan...he has a HUGE ashok chakra on top of this helmet?? Get him to remove it too!! or get out of trying to make a name and dont play biased games!!
