Thackeray should have some pride and keep his mouth shut. Politics and Sports don't match, so shut up and stay out. Thackeray has been nothing but a curse to the Maharashtra state and our country. It is high time Thackeray shuts up. Neither are the people now interested in voting for him and his party and neither does anybody want to listen to his nonsense all the time, so SHUT UP THACKERAY.
Iam sorry to say this but Mr Thackeray is out of his mind. Where's Mr Thackeray's Shame when India Plays pakistan in Hockey, Kabbadi and other sports. I agree that cricket carries along with it a lot of national sentiments but why blame the game for that. I for surely feel that Mr Thackery is always trying to carry out some personal vendetta when its comes to cricket. When these two countries can play other sports including our national game hockey why not cricket? What is trying to prove here?? For Gods sake leave the sports alone ...
Political & Sovereign war should not come between people who are professionals and who do not have hang ups. I am talking abt the Pakistani Cricket Team & Pakistani cricket lovers who get entertained destressed etc (maybe even other good things) when they watch a cricket match. There are many Indians like that too. Do not confuse between President Musharaffs double speak and Inzamam's sincerity.
Also, Why do u try to sound like a nationalist when the whole continent know that you are a Sub Nationalist?
One wouldnt completely disagree with what Bal Thackeray has to say......... But his comments could be politically motivated..... Mixing Sport with Politics wouldnt be a great idea either.Playing cricket does not hamper relations, it could only build bridges. One needs to look at India-Pakistan series on a much broader prospective. Its definitely not a shame for the cricketers to play cricket with Pakistan...... They look at it as a cricketing challenge, an opportunity, definitely not a shame.
I agree with Mr. Thakaray, as much as I like cricket, and as much as I like a india /pakistan match, one cannot pretend there is nothing happening at the border, I would like to also add that I do do not like some of the reactionary and radical words that spew out of Mr Thakaray, but on this one I am with Him.
