Past 'sins' of Modi & Thakeray are coming home to Roost. With due sympathy for the Viewers of Ahmedabad I must admit that this is what we could expect if Politicians make indiscriminate Statements just to suit their ambitions.
i wonder y wudnt they play a test match in ahmedabad.
a reaction to the riots? that indeed wud b overstepping their role. sportspersons travelling abroad to play are ambassadors of goodwill and it is highly objectionable for them to venture into political protests.
Indeed it is a bad chapter. and it saddens us indians. but if a visiting cricket team wants to make an issue out of it. they should stay home and protest.
As for the cricket, we look forward eagerly for the super drama of indo-pak contests.. all in a very competitive but non vitriolic cheer..
If Pakistan is backing off from playing in Ahmedabad for reason related to riots, then they need not tour India at all. We are a sovereign country and we know how to protect our citizens, let them be Hindus or Muslims. Allowing Pakistan to dictate such things would be nothing but an attack on our secular esteem.
Indian venues are all secured. It was Pakistan where no one was willing to go. PCB got the much needed money, thanks to hosting Indian team. BCCI is already rich.
Its time for BCCI to underdstand that it is the bigger and elder brother just like India is bigger to Pakistan (assuming we are indeed brothers). But, such childish demands from the younger counterpart should no longer be entertained.
Then All Gujarat should boycot the pakistan tour (No Tv or radio, i will certainly do it) In future we should stop playiny at Karachi/Peshawar. JayHind
PCB seems to have got in to hands of wrong people who always wears blurred spects. BCCI must ignore this demand of PCB. It is the matter of pride for us. PCB seems to suggest that Ahmedabad is not safe...full with blood sucking goondas. It is an insult to Gujaratis and Indians in general. This shows media and others are not in a mood to give second chance to Gujarat to prove its secular credntials...
OK, now by not playing in Ahmedabad Pak. is giving this tour a political turn. AND on the other hand they are saying that by playing it will be something political. This is sheer nonsense.
Did we not play at Lahore or Karachi, whichever one was disputed one?
Thank you PCB. Being a resident of Ahmedabad,I never wish any cricket match being played here against Pakistan. Already lost three months of peace and lots of lives in riots, I do not wish any such incident that spark violence again. Both the communities are living together now peacefully. All have suffered a lot. There may be few people waiting for such incident that disturb the peace again.
