Ganguly selection
by SWAMINATHAN on Dec 30, 2005 07:17 PM  | Hide replies

Ganguly should be dropped from the team and his test and one day average for the past two years. There are lot of young talents avilable for selection. There should not be political interference in selecting the team,

Selecting Ganguly is always political, but dropping him is not ! ........ hahahaha
by Meghadoot Chaudhuri on Jan 01, 2006 11:40 PM
But there should not be political interference in dropping someone too while selecting the team (as it happened during selection for the 3rd test against SL). What do you think ..... wasn't that political too ?

Picking Sourabh is a step back
by BHARAT SATISH TALWAR on Dec 30, 2005 03:08 PM

I am amazed to observe that even the foreigners are laughing commenting on the foolishness of our selectors to selct Ganguly that even sacrificing the selection of Kaif who has been the most promising youngster. I do not know what made them to take back their own words when they did not opt for Ganguly against Srilanka. This is purely a political decision I suppose. I think Pawar & Dalmia are in hands in glove with each other for mutual gains and are obliging each other. Ridiculous!

S K Datta
Well said
by S K Datta on Dec 30, 2005 11:20 AM

Waqar Younis is suggesting a'Fieding allrounder' in Kaif. Maybe he is looking to replace Kiran More as the new (foreign) Chairman of the NSC, Cricket India. That 2004 still hurts (Sourav's Team India) is coming through.
Maybe Sourav could lend him his contact lenses so that he is able to see when bat meets ball. Or Ranatunga was insane to say that he saw some of the most exquisite cover drives from the bat of Ganguly at the Kotla.
Or maybe, he is looking to be the Bowling coach for Team Chappel, particularly with Kiran More visiting Pakistan shortly . Beat wishes, as these ex Pak cricketers do have work in their home country, but we provide opportunities.
What happens in the dressing room or out on the green should be the least of all concerns for Waqar Younis as he will only be in the commentators box and not in the support staff of Greg Chappel.
JUST SHUT UP.

Dear Waqar

Dear Waqar,

Never Mind, Dont forget your comeback to the internation cricker after you have been dumped for one year. I dont think its so long that one can forget their own life. And dont forget you was fortunate enough to succeed. You never know what can happen with Ganguly. Just think before speaking.

regards,
ravi.

Waqar - Mind your business
by Indian on Dec 29, 2005 03:22 PM

It would great to see Mr Waqar Yunis to mind his business and restrict his comments to his team (Pakistan), he has absolutely no right to comment on the selection process of the opposition team. The very fact that he is commenting on Indian team's slection policy confirms that Pakistan team is worried that history (India team beating them in Pakistan) might repeat again.

Instead of commenting on the Indian players it would great if Waqar tries to give some advise to the Pakistan team and see if they are interested in implimenting them.

Picking Saurav is a step back.
by Kaustubh Tarde on Dec 29, 2005 01:57 PM

Sorry to say that such a comment is received by a player with so much of experience actually!!!!!!

The performance of Saurav in the season ahead itself will prove that the selectors have made no error in picking him up.

Its a great sign for the Indian Cricket team to have Saurav Ganguly back as a player and will enable him to concentrate on his game more now that he is not in the captains boots!!!!

We welcome the most successful captain for India over the years of Indian cricket.

Sourav's Dhamaka
by Mahesh on Dec 29, 2005 01:38 PM

I am sure waqar that ganguly can overcome your statements to hit some more runs like 2,3,4... in every innings before getting out cheaply (because chances of getting some top edge is high with ganguly). But don't worry he will compensiate with his bowling, after all he is a bowling all-rounder.
