welcome ganguly

i think sending off ganguly in the last test was a very severe blow to his sporting career. i do think his career would have been over if he was not selected for this series. all i pray is for him to grab this opportunity as even two or three match winning knocks against our big time opponent will strenghten his moral and position in indian squad.

Ganguly's re-entry
by Ashish on Dec 26, 2005 02:01 PM  | Hide replies

I think it is very much right to have a grat batsman like Saurav Ganguly back into Indian Team.

Yes, Saurav has not been able to deliver in the recent period when he was a captian. Yes,it was correct to remove him from captaincy and probably from a few games. The message that 'perform or perish' was correct.

But the way he was excluded from the third test was a big insult to this national Hero especially when he is sincerly trying to come back.

Please let us all not forget that this Tiger of Bengal have given maximum victories to India. If at all anyone has shown a fighting agressive spirit on ground,in situations when India needed the most, it has been Saurav Ganguly.Remenber the reply he gave to Flintoff when India defeated England in England. Does anyone in India has this Guts.

But as per me now the only way Saurav can slap these crooked selectors who are dancing to the tume of our new firangi politician coach Greg Chapell, is by giving a strong good performance in Pakistan and show us his old glory of being the most stylish left handed batsman Indian has ever produced.

Nevertheless, I feel Rahul is a right captian.

All the best to Saurav from my side.

Considering that you have a good eye sight, just watch his tactics while facing the ball in recent test match in delhi, your tiger is not even comparable to a lizard.
