Its all politics!!
by Mahesh M on Dec 29, 2005 10:37 AM

Saurav did deserve a chance for his decent performance, same way Tendulkar deserved chances after his injury for few matches.

It is very clear that Left Front people have forced their political will on Pawar and his group.

Selection process of team has broken down, doesnt seem far fetched to think that day will come when parliament will vote up or down on a player.

Its 100% politics with people like Sharad Pawar, A shrewd politician at helm....!!!!

But on funnier side, we may get to see following

- Debate between Manmohan Singh and Vajpayee on consistency of Dravid.
-Arjun Singh would like reservation for minority in cricket, Mayawati for OBC.
-Mulyam and Lalu would change team India dress code from blue to green to make it minority friendly. Tagodia would fight tooth and nail to make it saffron.
-Team India would be chosen based on secular credential.
-Team Member would refuse to take directions from captain as "Sonia is their Supreme Leader".
-Left front would banish anyone who is brand ambassador for an US Company.

So fasten your seat belt interesting time ahead for Indian Cricket..!!!

When will be an end to the politics in Indian Cricket?
by Rajeev on Dec 28, 2005 08:53 PM

What kind of benefit is Indian team going to get from the experience of Ganguly, when he himself is struggling to bat and he has been taken as a pure batsman. If he is in then certainly we are going to play keeping 10 players in mind.Matches are not won based on the past glory. Enough of regional affection and political influence now..Stop all these nonsense else be prepared mentally to loose world cup 2007....

Indian Cricket team selectors
by Anand on Dec 27, 2005 11:17 PM

After dropping Ganguly after second test with SriLanka, i read that,Kiran More didn't want Sourav to play in No.6 as Yuvraj was doing better,i understand thats the basic reason for axing the Bengal batsman. Now ,how on earth can someone believe More saying they need Gangulys experience in Pakistan ..why didn't they think abt it earlier..

I wonder who selects the Indian cricket team selectors.they need better spoke-person to handle rubbish decisions.

Ganguly Coming Back
by sattwik on Dec 26, 2005 04:20 PM

The "bunch of jokers" sitting in the chairs of "selectors" should be shown door immediately. The best word that can be assigned to them is that "RUBBISH"... Moreover its also to be investigated whom is these guys representing.. And final advise for Mr. More....First learn to hold a big chair...Try to be a man of integrity..If u can`t , venture out Bollywood...No other comedian is being found after Jony Lever..U have got a future there..

Ganguly's Inclusion in the Team - BLUNDER
by Rami on Dec 26, 2005 10:23 AM

This is a TRUE blunder. Including Ganguly in the team might cost India this test series in Pakistan. Ganguly is a negative influence on rest of the team - The slowest and the sloppiest man. We have seen ball go through his legs while fielding. He is one of the laziest persons in the sports history who does not like to run and including him at international level is a huge mistake.

They say Sourav is out of form...
by Ashutosh Shukla on Dec 26, 2005 10:11 AM

They say Sourav is out of form...

Numbers speak similar story for Kaif/Sehwag/Yuvraj too..

(This data is pertaining to ODIs played by India in past 18 months...

(25 Jun 2004 till 25 Dec 2005)

Sachin 25 Matches 775 Runs @ 31.00 runs/match
Sourav 30 Matches 814 Runs @ 27.13 runs/match
Sehwag 49 Matches 1329 Runs @ 27.12 runs/match
Kaif 39 Matches 1120 Runs @ 28.71 runs/match
Yuvraj 43 Matches 1225 Runs @ 28.48 runs/match
Dravid 46 Matches 1592 Runs @ 34.60 runs/match

Numbers speak a totally different story. Data proves that it is personal grudge that is driving Greg Chappell and not the performance

Parthiv : Bule eyed boy of Kiren More
by Somshree on Dec 25, 2005 09:52 PM

Indeed ! It is a trade-off played by the Selection committee chairman, Mr. Kiren More. Mounting pressure of inclusion of Ganguly gave Kiren More the much needed opportunity to include his blue eyed boy as a tread off. Sad! It is very distressing for the talented nearly flawless young wicketkeeper, Dinesh Kartik. Kartik's talent would thus slowly drain out by such cancerous regionalism in Indian cricket. Parthiv was a super flop and was given repeated chances that even sparked-off a controversy in the 3rd test against Australia (Nagpur Oct. 2004). The talent in Kartik should be respected. Parthiv Patel additionally benefits from politics, Kiran More, a Gujarat player is blatantly supporting Parthiv Patel or he has some relative in BCCI.
But, what about Kiren More himself????? Probably he is the most controversial chairman of the selection committee Indian cricket has ever witnessed. Isnt it high time to drop him from the selection committee? Don't we need a minimum eligibility for such important positions?
