Gangully should open the innings both in Test Cricket and One Dayers and score century after centuries, so that his critics are silenced once for all !!!

dada's return.....wow
by manish on Dec 25, 2005 12:50 AM

I am glad a good player in past returhed to squad at a sacrifice of some young talent....All players have been given ample of oppertunities to prove their worth, but how long other young talents have to wait and see their dreams being shatterred time and time after. This has to changed, for India to achieve a leading role.Dada's return is signalling that,to be a Indian cricketeer, you need a political clouds and regional support, regardless of how you have performed in past or status....this is not a changing India....it unfortunate for those desparate souls.

Final thought...a Greatness would have been if dada, would have volunteerly, with smile offered a onboard room for other young potential soul...I had to write this...no offense to anyone intended..

Happy to be back at the expense of future.
by Abhinav on Dec 24, 2005 11:56 PM

Sourav ganguly would be very happy to return to the team but certainly I am not, because he came back to the side at the expense of Mohmmad Kaif, a young energetic talent with lots of future. Whats even more disappointing is the way he made it back, through a political backing rather than performance, while Kaif was shown even with his brilliant showing in Zimbabwe series where he averaged more than 90 with a century against Zimbabwe and a near century aginst New Zealand. Wonder what Kaif had done wrong of being scapegoat in this politics. But I hope and pray to God that Kaif - Jhonty Rodhes of India works really hard and makes a ballistic return to the Indian team.

Ganguly's selection in Indian Team
by Dr.S.C.Mukherjee on Dec 24, 2005 10:56 PM

Dear All,
I am happy that at least better sense prevailed in the so called bunch of selectors, who have reversed their choice and ultimately picked up Saurav for the forth coming Pakistan tour. These bunch has got limited say in the selection process it seems and are dictated by some other people who very cleverly and with bad motive have picked up Raj Singh Dungarpur as the manager of the Indian team.Mr. Dungarpur is as hostile against Ganguly as is our coach Mr. Chappell. So, nothing to rejoice in selection of Ganguly as he will be sidelined to decorate the reserve bench most of the time and that is for sure.
Yours truly,
S.C.Mukherjee

Pathetic - Inclusion of ganguly
by srinivas josyula on Dec 24, 2005 07:18 PM

This is pathetic. Ganguly's career is over and there is no way he can cope with the quickies of pakistan. He has been sorted out long time back and all the international bowlers know his weekness. There is no point in his selection and I genuinely feel that injustice has been done to Mohammed kaif.

The Calcuttan's must hang their heads in shame to see what levels they have stooped. I wonder, if this would become a precedent to have narrow regional feelings dominating.

Calcuttan has ceased to be a real sporting city, if you see the track record ever since the wretched reaction in a WC Semi final shoot out.

Shame on you Calcutta & calcuttans.

ganguly happy to be back
by Purnachander Rao on Dec 24, 2005 05:26 PM

Taking shelter of politics and pressures coming back is not a healthy sign. He should have come back with merits. dropping Mohd Kaif is a sad affair. His catches sometimes won matches. No problem, natural law will take care of it.
