Your language is unfortunately not up to the standard I expect out of a site like Rediff.Maybe its because you are trying to get the report out asap, but there are so many errors(grammatical)that it just jars at times. And your speculations-stop them!
"Sri Lanka now have to play out two days to salvage a draw, but given the form Kumble and Harbhajan have shown, particularly in this series,it may seem a distinct possibility." In this case, use of "distinct possibility" is inappropriate, unless you are telling your readers that Kumble and Harbhajan have not been in good form(which I disagree with!)
The post lunch session of the report started with a repetition of what was already said and the first ten lines(not sentences)were useless.
"Debutant Tharanga failed to stand up to the challenge as the pressure from the Indian spinners kept mounting"-Tharanga did a pretty good job of scoring runs and occupying the crease.
All this and there are occasions when words have been left out("Samarweera has a career average of around 46 but most of his runs have (COME?)at home"
Dilshan dispatched a short pitched delivery from Agarkar-why does that defy your "logic"?Was the ball hooked?
STOP!
