Pathetic reporting
by Ashok on Dec 21, 2005 08:59 AM

After reading this report of the 3rd day, I was very much disgusted. How many times this report implied as if there was a need to score runs quickly. Mind you it was only the 3rd day and there were still 2 sessions left on this day. Why would a team which is already leading by almost 200 runs, would go for quick runs when ample time is left. There first priority would be to consolidate their position.

As it happened India lost 3 quick wickets for 34 runs. If the runs were scored at quick rate, the reason for that wasn't because there was a need to score quick runs. But this writer doesn't seem to understand anything about how test cricket is played. I hope in future Rediff will have reporters at least report based on the type of match (ie ODI or test), rather than filling up the space with mindless reporting.

Wagging tails Lousy ''drag ons''
by partha biswas on Dec 20, 2005 09:29 PM

Thank god that Indias' tail is wagging for FOUR consequetive innings. And the same tail rattles the Lankan batting too!! And the Lousy "drag ons", Sehwag,Tendulkar,Gambhir...step down...especially Sehwag whose contribution has been ZILCH for as many times as I have seen him play. And if Team India thinks that THIS time Sehwag is going to perform in Pakistan, lets not waste our breath. And Gambhir, double figures in this Innings dont mean a thing man.But who knows, the selectors may still think you are better than others. But THE worst thing that I will have to watch is Sehwag going and speaking as Captain of the Indian team at the end of this Test.Dravid we all wish you had not fallen ill. This useless player will take this, which is your cake, and bask in the glory. It makes me go insane.Photographers from all media...request that you DONOT take any photos at the ceremony wherever Sehwag appears.

Cricket comment
by Rathinavelu.T. on Dec 20, 2005 08:57 PM

Perhaps the Ramayana repeats: there Hanuman ravaged SriLanka with his tail blazing and our Indian Cricket team appears to emulate the feat with its tail making a mockery Of SriLankan bowling.

India's lead of 479 runs in third test
by Dr.Srijit Das on Dec 20, 2005 08:51 PM

Can anyone explain why Sehwag and Sachin are being given repeated chances? If you had given so many chances to Saurav, even he would have performed better.People cannot understand why the top order batsmen in the Indian team are so vulnerable. This is the condition in India, what will happen in Pakistan? The top order is not playing well.Drop Sehwag for one or two matches and then see how he will perform.Being a vice captain means taken for granted that he will be in the team.
The selectors are again trying to continue with worn out horses when they had earlier blamed Ganguly for continuing with his fixed choice of players. The lead for India is sure to fetch them a win in the last test match but the miserable performance of the top order is sure to fetch India an overseas loss in future.

The batting order needs to be reversed
by Varun on Dec 20, 2005 07:03 PM

Guys, with lower batting order cliking for India, its time for Indian Tink-Tank to reverse the batting order.Recent changes made in batting line up could justify the complete change.

Guys I would love to see Sachin Tendulkar walking down and 10th Batsman!!

Dosent it sounds good??

Harbhajan
by Hari on Dec 20, 2005 05:59 PM

In a same report how can you give 2 contradicting statements. First you mention Harbhajan got his 1st 5 wicket haul & letr in the report you say he celebrated his 17th 5 wicket.

It would be good if you could correct the same.
