In that case, Cricket fans would give a befitting reply to More by boycotting the Ahmedabad test.

It's completely cranky....see his temerity to issue such a statement. Deserves to be kicked.

Good stand

I think it pointless to cower on public demand. Ig uess if the Indian team keeps winnign nobody should have any reason to complain.

As for media concerned about Ganguly crying, I saw a documentary where Dungarpur said Sachin had cried too and "for not able to Win the match against Pak in chennai despite his 139".

So much for people questioning his commitment to the game everytime he walks out.

Mr More & Company, the so called 'bunch of jokers'
by akash on Dec 16, 2005 10:00 PM

I truly admire Ganguly's characteristic that was so Non Indian. We as Indians are always timid and in awe of the Firangs.May be its because of the 200 years of brit rule. We always looked up to them and always bore the brunt of their sledging and bickering. He looked at them eye to eye and competed in a way never see in Indian cricket. This attitude reflected on the entire Indian team because of their leader .Remember his shirt episode in lords after natwest signaling towards flintoff Or his tussle with Steve Waugh.

Unfortunately the selectors Mr More & Company, the so called 'bunch of jokers' are very timid and in awe of the Finangs, and blindly following the instructions of Mr chappel. They have forgotton that their job is to select the team with their own mind and not follow the Firang coach's wish blindly. Very sad indeed!

POLITICS and CRICKET are INSEPARABLE
by heezpresent on Dec 16, 2005 09:54 PM

Try as hard as we may, politics will not let the great sport of cricket thrive. Egos rule supreme. The successes that teams across the globe (and especially, the Indian cricket team) encounter, are INSPITE of the system.

Truly sad state of affairs. It is time to privatise.. and let's start with cricket. Regional/state teams must be sold to regional/state tycoons who will then recruit the best regional players they can for their money, and attempt to retain. Players across the country will then vote for "top 15" of their peers for each international ODI or Test, thereby selecting the team without interference from the politicians (which, as far as I am concerned is synonymous with dimwitted jerks).

I certainly do not claim to have the formula, but I am willing to bet the above suggestion (or a variation, thereof) will be a million times better than what we have going on right now.
