Ganguly's dropping from the team was unfortunate, yes. There are reasons to keep him out of the playing eleven, but not the entire squad.
He is a non-performer as far as the last two years are concerned. And we cannot afford to retain non-performers in the team for the sake of posterity, be it Sachin, Saurav or anybody for that matter.
Iam not able to underastand one thing .... ...why these people r showing that much interest on our past skipper.....] ....let us learn lessons from AUSTRALIA... if the PLAYER is not performing , whomsoever he may be,they will replace hime with a performer ..... ......these were the experiences of STEVE WAGH, MICHAL BEVAN , MARK WAGH ETC...........
Why Sachin Tendulkar should not be excluded if he doen't perform well?Is he an immortal God? A player should do these things voluntarily rather than getting axed through selectors.
Its absolutely correct of what Mr.Ajit is telling and no matter how ever, some day Sachin could be treated shabbly just like Ganguly. It doesn't mean that ganguly's performance is par below but ofcourse he was one of the great Indian cricket captain who installed team India spirit. He may played some tricks in retaining his captaincy but it should be that he could not given a thrashing like this instead he might be left out in the test series earliar itself
I fell that he might be given at least 3 chance to prove his bating. Simple after one test droping of Ganguly is not correct why can't drop Gambhir he did not scored even 10 runs in both the inngs.
I share Wadekar's views. But Ganguly should fight this out with the Board, Kiran More and Chappel. He has the mental strength and capacity. He has the backing of the whole of India and not only Bengal. This is the most unkindest cut of all. I am sure he will rise up and fight.
