Saurav's dropping from the team
by vikas on Dec 15, 2005 06:23 PM

Just bcoz someone was good in the past gives no reason to include him forever. He is not in form and shud be treated like anyother player who is out of form. What matters is winning and not who is junior and who is senior.

INDIA WILL MISS DADA !
by Subikesh Mukherejee on Dec 15, 2005 05:41 PM

Yes I do completely agree with the former great Ajit Wadekar comment towards the end . Even I would not like our beloved Dada to continue after recieving such heartbreaking and humiliating insult from the selectors. As Ajit rightly said Dada should announce his retirement from International cricket and devote all his unmatchable talent and experience in developing the game as well as harness new talent for the betterment on Indian cricket.

DADA WE LOVE YOU AND WE ALL ARE WITH YOU.

Criterion for selection should be current form.
by Ketan Damle on Dec 15, 2005 04:17 PM

It is highly ununderstandable as to why Mr.Wadekar is so concerned about future of crickewting legends like Sachin and Kumble.Matches are won with performance in current matches and not with the history and glory attached with past performances of players.Anil and Sachin have done great service for Indian Cricket, and they have been paid with more than they can ask for in reaturns, both in terms of monetory gains and affection from cricket fans.Sachin happens to be the richest cricketier, world has ever seen.Cricket fans in India worship Cricketing Legends like demi gods.
The moment they seize to be useful for good of Indian Cricket as players they should be sacked and young blood should fill in their positions.Just because one has done well in past,he cant be given assurance of life time spot in indian team.

Wadekar's comments
by Shailendra on Dec 15, 2005 04:01 PM

Coming from oldies like Wadekar, it is not in good taste.
Making general statements for left handed players , young and talented new comers. he should not impose his circumstances over present conditions.

Agreed

Dear all,

Ajit Wadekar's comments are quite realistic. However Sachin wont be dropped as of now... just because pawar is having the power. If it was dalmiya.. we might have been seeing injustice done to sachin.. after he failed to make good scores in the 1 dayers.

So its anyone's guess that politics.. now at country level is eating into cricket. I wont be surprised if I see Indian cricket going the Zimbabwean way.

Just think of the case CPM(I) pressurizing Govt. of India.. to include Ganguly again!!! It can happen.. isnt it.

Regards.
