Pattern of Weakness: Legspin
by Jeff on Dec 07, 2005 10:01 PM

Looking at India's success against Sri Lanka, a pattern of weakness (that is consistent throughout many generations of crickets) is apparent. Sri Lanka has trouble with slow left arm orthodox (Maninder Singh, Ragu, Yadav, Doshi) and right-arm slow-medium bowlers who move the ball away from right handers (Kumble and Prasad).

Maninder Singh      7-51      Nagpur       1986-87
A Kumble      7-59      Lucknow       1993-94

SLV Raju      6-87      Ahmedabad       1993-94
SLV Raju      5-38      Ahmedabad       1993-94
BKV Prasad      5-72      Kandy       2001
NS Yadav      5-76      Nagpur       1986-87
DR Doshi      5-85      Chennai       1982-83
A Kumble      5-87      Colombo (SSC)      1993
