sangakkara needs time n space to open innings after his glove works....hmmmm........kaluwitharana never got that when arjuna was captain.......strange....

hello mazhar,
the case u told abt. kalu is true only for ODIs, where it is still ok for bat as opener and also keep. but kalu never used to open in tests. it is only in case of one dayers. it is very very tough to open in tests as well as do ur job as keeper

Role of kalu was of a pinch-hitter. But Sangakkara is the main batsman for Srilanka who is supposed to carry the team on his sholders. In opening session bowlers are bound to dominate. Even best batsmen can get out when bowlers are in full swing. That is what arjuna means. Do not put ur best batsman at risk. Let him come when ball is worn out and bawlers are tired.
