Chennai Test
by C.V. Srinivasan on Dec 03, 2005 10:05 PM

Dear Cricket Board of India,
Please try to improve conditions of cricket ground and please buy new instruments to clear the waterlogging in the field. This is 21st century still you people using that old way for clearing the water logging in the field. Still you people using small sponches to drain water and plastic sheet to cover the pitch.
I want to tell one thing I witnessed two matches one in england and other one in south africa they continued the match as soon as rain stops. Because they having that much latest equipments to clear the water logging. In some stage they also using helicopters to drain the field. Today no rain in chennai but You can't continue the play because You are still in old ways to clear waters in the ground.
Dear BCCI you never mind the people and never mind about the cricket you only thinging about the post in board and how get money from the innocent fans.
I am writing this on behalf all the fans in India and across the world.

TEST MATCH
by S.Ganeshan on Dec 03, 2005 05:16 PM

Gentlemen,

Please do check with the Meterological department while you fix the venue for the test or else this is the case !!

Natures Calamity, No one cud help it.

The only resort is to convince the cricket fans to satisfy them in correcting the date of play at Chennai on a different date , subject to any conditions prevailing on that day. Also, the Captains of those teams shud also give a speech to the fans at Chennai confirming that due to unavoidable circumstances the test match cud not be conducted by the BCCI.

This is only my suggestion.

Thanks and Best Regards,
S.Ganeshan

2nd Day Test match abondoned
by TG on Dec 03, 2005 05:09 PM

It warms my cockles,to use an old fashioned expression, to see that the 2nd day's play was also washed out. I thought the BCCI will have more sense after the earlier one dayer between India and SA got washed out. But no, greed and their dire need has got the better of them, but the poorer for ignorant fans who bought tickets for the test. I think we need shockers like these to get our nation out of this monomania with cricket.

First Test At Chennai
by A N Sethuraman on Dec 03, 2005 03:13 PM

Any child will know that the two months starting 15th October to 15th December are months when the North-East Monsoon is very active over TN.

I am surprised that the Cricket authorities did not realise this when they chalked out the itenerary for the South Africans' & Sri Lankans' tour of India.

chennai test

I think what is happening in Chennai is sheer farce. During the one-day matches itself it was evident that Chennai is unsuitable for a match during this part of the year. This should be seen in the light of Tamil Nadu completely inundated with water. I think the administration is completely foolish to again keep the test in Chennai despit these forewarnings.

WHAT IS THIS?
by pratyancha on Dec 03, 2005 12:53 PM

Ive completely failed to understand that why do they chose a place which is likely to have rain as a venue for a cricket match. i mean the one day against south africa waswashed off at chennai and now the first 2 days of the test is also washed off. this is really unacceptable
