I cannot help imagine Fletcher's reaction if England were to be at receving end of not less than 5 poor umpiring decisions. Flintoff played played not less than three innings of his own in Eng's first Innings and played two in its second innings. Wheras Martyn was allowed to play only once and Katich suffered too of the same fate at the hands (rather finger) of the umpires.
Had none of those gross errors happened, Australia would have been thumping winners by now.
Pray rain or and poor umpiring does not spoil cricket in The Oval. Australia should have the last laugh. They deserve to after putting up fights that England perhaps cannot think of emulating or has shown so far when under pressure (Lords Test is an example)
England should get pat for their performance

Dear Friend,
Don't say that England are up in the series only because of poor umpiring. While appreciating Australia for putting up a good fight, You should have the spirit of appreciating England's performance also. True, there may be some poor decision, but still it is all part and parcel of the game and umpires are also human beings. For getting back the Ashes, the english cricketers also fought bravely after Lord's Test. Due credit should go the English Cricketers also. Flintoff is an excellant guy, who is not depending on Umpires to pull out England, but performs 100% everytime. He is the morale booster for the entire England Team. Sorry to note you are supporting Australia alone defying credit to the English Team. Overall, it was a memorable Test Series and I request you to support quality cricket from any side because we, the cricket lovers in India want the game to win always. Best Wishes, Regards, Shriram
