Ganguly, first of all u must perform!
by rohan on Aug 28, 2005 12:01 PM

I really wonder how Ganguly blames the whole team whenever we lose a game.He never ever accepts his failure which is not the type of behaviour a captain should have.He has been in very very poor form of late, and had he been an Australian player,he would have lost his place long back and people would have forgotten that there was someone called Ganguly!!
Mr Dalmiya....atleast now do u realise what is needed for the Indian team???

Work to be done in batting - ganguly
by Hiten Arvind Sheth on Aug 28, 2005 09:55 AM

1. in friday's match, nobody got out to a good ball from bond. everybody got out while playing a bad shot. so don't praise bond too much. improve our own display.

2. send dhoni at no 3. do not waste him by sending at no 7. he has got most of his runs as opener or at no 3. give him no 3 for at least 10 matches in a row. once he gets settled as a batsman, his keeping will also improve.

3. don't drop ajit agarkar. although he gave 45 runs in 7 overs, he picked up 2 important wickets. also got a run out and picked a good catch. ajit is an excellent fielder, a good batsman (he has got top score of 107 in test and 95 in one day), a good bowler (his best in one day is 6 wickets against aus and in test is also 6 wickets against aus).
so he should be played as an allrounder and not as a pure bowler.

4. keep the same team and send venugopal rao at no 7.

thanks.

Try to tune ur batting first Mr.Ganguly...
by Ashok on Aug 28, 2005 01:28 AM

The big problem with our batting is ganguly's poor form. How can we expect all players to give their best when the captain himself is not palying well for more than a year. All of the indian batsmen took their place for granted.Esp. Ganguly & Yuvaraj. Yuvaraj will score only every 10-12 matches and then he will shout at his critics as though he has done a thing which before no one did.
If we took out both of them everything will be fine.

Attitude of ganguly
by AVINASH on Aug 27, 2005 08:06 PM

NO other team in the world have ganguly in their team at this stage when he is at his highest level of inconsistency. He doesn't use his brain and when he is out of form he should come down the order giving his place to dhoni. And what i think is he should be removed from indian team and given some time to prove himself in the domestic cricket. I think suresh Raina deserves a place in the indian team instead of our captain. So i hope most of u agree with me.

Time to throw Saurav out of the team!!!
by Syed Shahed Hussain on Aug 27, 2005 05:28 PM

Dear Saurav,

It was really a shame to loose a match in that fashion. I think instead of working on the batting, it will be better if we have you thrown out of the team & have a new captain. You are really a pain to be in the team!!! You don't know how to use your bowlers. You are not even worth of a place in the team forget about leading it. You are in the hot seat & in the team just & just b'coz you have the SICK boards backing.

Watch your Preformance Mr. Ganguly

Mr. Ganguly: Pay your attention more on playing good Cricket rather than playing politics to keep hold of captancy. Before making any comments on anybody watch for your performance for last several matches. Your records says whole story rather than yourself. Its high time you should give up your captancy and pay full attention to play good and sensible cricket which should bring back your old form.

I agree with you Mr. Anuraag. Infact, I would rather add that instead of quitting the captaincy, Saurav should quit the team, I mean he himself should quit the team since theres no way the board or the bunch of jokers can bring him down / throw him out, he's the apple of their eyes. I guess politics suits him better than cricket.

Batting Needs to improve: Ganguly
by Sujay on Aug 27, 2005 10:46 AM

Dear Ganguly,

It was a shameless display by the Indians in match against Kiwis. The most imp point was to make sure the first few overs needed to be taken care off. If the Kiwi batsmen failed in the application against the Indian quickies (who have improved a lot) why did the captian not start the batting in the reverse order as the total was not so big??? Ganguly should have taken this decision based on the historical match in which the Great Bradman applied this concept.

The most important point for the selectors is that putting Ganguly (who is the most consistent failure among the captains and lacks killer instinct) means putting one step behind. Understand what Chappell meant (Select the team and then the captain). This directly meant that Ganguly, based on his form, should not be included in the team.

The Indian Selectors can learn a lot from their Sri Lankan counterparts. They are the real force for the 2007 World Cup. Forget the finals or winning the Cup, it will be great if India (w/o Sachin) even clear the first round, which mean beating Lankans.

Kudos to Kiwis. Indians please learn the basics fast and then start doing something different.
