Take a tip

Hey Punter Ponting

Take a clue from me.....Your four left handers Hyden, Langer, Katich and Gilchrist are sitting ducks for Flintoff and Jones, with their reverse swing and pace. Replace the left handers immediately with Right Hand batsmen. U guys can thrash the English attack and retain the ashes. At present u, Martyn and Clarke are only right handers and all the three of u play with confidence both Flintoff and Jones. The above four left handers have no clue. Take urgent steps and call for right hand batsmen replacement from Australia. U have plenty of right batsmen who are at present sitting in the bench waiting for an opportunity !!!

I salute Ponting, he certainly played for his country I am sure none of our player in Indian cricket team can take such a pain of staying 7 hours on the crease defending defeat for the country. Ganguly where are you ?....Learn Captain !

Ponting Saves Australia

First of all heartly congragulations to Mr. Ricky Ponting on single handedly saving the test match and proved worth his selection as the caption of the team. I personally think it is a lesson for people like Ganguly Who is unfit even to be in the final 12 to learn how to lead the tim under crisis. Not to just in the Gallery bitting fingers in an hapless condition. People we can deliver are being restricted by people like Ganguly I my opinion is even unfit of the zonal level. In this connection We must congragulate Sachin Tendulkar, who never came in the way of good captaincy. He never hampered the prospects of the team. Lets pray god and see bright future and the best talent get the chance to show their abilities.

Such a feat is unthinkable from the Indian team.Once five wickets are down, the remaining team will think of catching the earliest flight to take care of the commercials. The less said about the captain, the better it is.Wasn't it an identical situation when India took on Pakistan on the final day of the Bangalore test a few months ago?

Greg chappel's india... and australia..

The decision to make Ganguly as captain will backfire. We need people who lead by example like Ricky pointing . Ganguly knows how to talk and make expression. The politics in the board had created mess for indian cricket and with Misfit like Ganguly who is one of the bad runner between the wickets and certainly among top bad fielders will take Indian cricket to nadir and will affect the morale of team with performer like Balaji left out. With Dravid being given only one chance, and ganguly back at helm ... shows how corrupt the proceedings are at the background. The person who deserves not to be in the team is again captain of indian team. It is very unfortunate. I have stopped following Indian cricket till misfit like Ganguly is the Captain. He have made 10000 runs because he was the opener and had got lot of opportunities to make runs than somebody lower down the order . Just count how many Match - Winnning performance he has given in past 3-years in test and one day and the only conclusion will be that we should rest him asap.
We need Match winners not one like him..
Please stop dreaming if Mr chappel can turnaround the team fortunes .. or we shuld play bangladesh and Zimbabw

It is Rain God!
by C.N. Shankar on Aug 16, 2005 04:45 AM

Ricky played an innings to save the Match ultimately. But it is the Rain God and the 'Dropped Catches' that helped Australia to Draw the Third Test.

A classic Ashes Test
by Prabudha Singh on Aug 16, 2005 12:19 AM

Before the start of this test, people crowned England's victory at Edgbaston as the best ever Test match, but this one turned out to be an even more thrilling encounter.
England had been dominant in this test match from day one & had the task of bowling out Australia with 399 more runs to score on the final day.
With 24 balls to spare they managed to get 9 out of ten, but then Brett Lee & Glenn McGrath saved the day & the match for the Aussies.
We have not witnessed a crowd of 21000 on the final day (and another 10,000 could not manage to get in) in any Test Match in England for a long time.
Also the fact that Cricketing news are dominating the sporting headlines despite the start of the Premiership season is an indication of the popularity the English cricketers have brought back to a Nation ravaged in Soccer fever.
Hopefully England will keep the momentum going & the next game at TrentBridge in another ten days time will bring another memorable epic encounter between the oldest enemies in Cricketing history.
Kudo's to the English & Aussie teams for producing such a wonderful finish.
