About the batsman in indian cricket team
by bahadur khan on Aug 28, 2005 03:56 PM

What Mr.Chappel told is absolute right... in my view i think we dont need the batsmen becoz the bowlers are doing their job perfectly and in addition to that they even doing the batsman job also...then what is the need of batsmen.Any how we are loosing the matchs...why dont we try differently...

More stress on match practice & net practice than on the non-cricketing physical exercises can improve players reflexes in batting, bowling & filding.

Players should not be made to content with non-cricketing physical exercises, which eventually can cause them, overlooking satisfaction of net practice.

I fully agree with coach Chappell that batsmen let us down. Most of our batsmen, specially the experienced ones such as Ganguly and Laxman appeared as if they're playing a test match--taking a lot of balls to make very few runs. They should play more aggressive game but safely.Compared to them our youngsters did well.Look at Srilankans--they had a fighting spirit from top to bottom--they deserved to win.Our players waste too many balls while batting in the initial stages and then they can do nothing
in the end. They have to be fast run makers in the beggining.Thanks.

CHAPPELL IS RIGHT

I think what Mr.Chappell has said about indian cricket team is absolutely right. Our indian players lack confidence when it comes to big games. Take this series, our bowlers bowled very well in all the league matches but when it came to the final match, our bowling was terrible. Our players lack the right mindset and confidence in the final matches. If they could have handled the mental pressure they would have won the match easily. When it was dravid and yuvraj batting 281 didnt seem to be a big total. But after the fall of dravid's and yuvraj's wicket ,all the other wickets fell like a pack of cards. If our indian team can handle the mental pressure and improve their fielding standards then they could easily win the matches. When compared to the australian team, we have some good players as they have, but the only difference between them and our players is that the australians are capable of handling pressure situations but we indians donot.

Mr. Chappell should not blame only batsman. He is also culprit, He should not allow to wait the batsman for 45 over, becoz all batsman thinks that they can take much run from the last five overs. That is the main reason india lost the match as i think.
