Ganguly the culprit (why doesn't he just go away!)
by Rakesh on Aug 03, 2005 10:19 PM

Gaguly mau well have finally scored his long awaited 10,000 runs, but clearly his this venture costed India the match. Compare his painfully scored 51, off 110 balls and 139 minutes on field - to Jayavardene's 94 off 114 balls and the reason behind SL victory should be pretty clear.
Now-a-days when Ganguly goes out to the field, you can expect one of two things to happen. If we, the Indian fans are lucky, he'll be out in the 1st ball or in the first over he faces (as a rule: via an edge to an outswinger to the keeper). The other more dreaded by all situaton is: he'll stick to the wicket taking a defensive stance or nervously poking at every ball witout scoring any runs and cause a fatal blow to the run rate and your blood pressure. The Indian selection team must supply free Aspirin to Indian Fans as a compensation for their decision to include this "yesterdays star" to Indian team.

Errors in the article

T dilshan went for 30 runs in his quota of 10 overs and not 49!, Upul Chandana is a leg spinner and not an off spinner as mentioned!
Though the ball that shattered ganguly's off stump was an off cutter for him!
