Ofcourse, Wasim Akram always an admirer of Indian cricket and always talk with genuine reasoning. I too have agreed with the Wasim comments on Ganguly. One more chance must be given to Ganguly to prove his credibilty and we must appreciate wasim for his wise comments. Zaman, Germany
Often I have been meditating on the virtues of leadership radiated by our cricketers on and off the field. The current Indian captain Saurav Ganguly, former captain Kapil Dev, Sri Lankan great Arjuna, Pakistani skippers Imran Khan and Wasim Akram stand apart as blessed with leadership virtues rarely seen in our time in the subcontinent. In the space of a little over two decades the face of Asian cricket has been transformed beyond recognition. Talented individuals have blossomed into team mates winning laurels for their respective countries. Tags and labels of disabilities of the past have vanished into thin air. Script writers have been forced to give up their traditional style of reporting for something creative, constructive, challenging and life promoting. Some bit of pressure is certainly there on the men at the helm. Patience is a virtue every good leader needs to have in abundance. Saurav Ganguly is in the learning process and is certain to bounce back soon. In the meantime we need to generate positive feelings towards our skipper who over the years gave us plenty to cheer from different parts of the cricketing world. Best of luck to Saurav.Wasim Bhai is a known motivator!
He can absolutely say what he feels about it. But for him to advice the indian selectors is wrong? It's simply pathetic of akram to take into account Saurav's career and then the low scores only in the pakistan series. How about going back to the past series recently as well. in a country of 1 billion and with so many cricketers is Saurav the only choice. I feel pity for crciekters who were tried for a very limited time and thrown on the curb. Cricketers like Saurav have made their money and probably their interest is elsewhere. Give Ganguly some chance in the domestic competetions and if he doesn't show the hunger to regain form then it's time to move on.
Every player has to be judged by their recent track record like the Australian Board.Ganguly has to do something drastically to his batting to first get selected as a player. All great captains have to give in to others.Better a captain is not sent out by his own performances. Modern Cricket demands professional approach.Sentiments and old statistics no longer work.
Undoubtedly , Sourav is the best 'captain' ever in the history of Indian cricket. Its his aggression and master tactics on the field that help the men in blue to achieve victory . I just hope , Sourav comes back ... not just as a player but as a CAPTAIN .
