Ganguly is never ashamed of getting advices!!
by Babal Gadar on Apr 21, 2005 03:52 PM

Ganguly's decision to go to Kent and play some county cricket is good move. He has taken the advices from the former cricketers now and then and has never been ashamed to do so.
At this time of crisis we as a nation should give our shoulders to most successful captain of India. He is class player and only thing he should do at this stage is beleive in himself and nothing else.

Give a chance to prince of Kolkata

Singling out Ganguly and blaming him for India's recent disastrous performance is simply unjustified. Being the captain of the losing side can certainly land you in trouble, specially if you don't have decent scores in the recent past. That doesn't mean, Ganguly can't be dropped from the side.

How have the other senior players including Sachin Tendulkar batted ? When was the last time Tendulkar came up with a knock, that, forget the fact won the match for India in the least, atleast saved the match ???

The Indian media is to be blamed to a great extent. That, they create super humans on TV Ads out of players who are only mortal humans and those cricket players, who finally claim that they are only humans and they have their rights to fail in matches, is simply unacceptable.

I agree that the Indian team's one-day schedule is demanding enough. Doesn't that call for more player rotation ( that will create a future team and will also provide the current team players with the much needed rest ) ?? Money and Media BUILT Indian cricket. Now, they are the ones out to DESTROY the game.

Krishnan,
I beg to differ from you. It is captain's performance that has affected the team. Saurav since not playing screwed up the plot on the last day by over cautious approach in Banglore test. Sachin has had consistent knock in the test series. Dravid & Sehwag were the best. This move ofcourse will help Saurav's poor form

Is Ganguly headed for Kent?
by Subbarao Chaganty on Apr 20, 2005 09:57 PM

Dear Fans,

It hurts to see that leaders like Ganguly have to resort to domestic cricket "outside of our nation" to get back to form.

Is it too much to ask of senior players to actively participate in Indian doemstic cricket leading by example - playing with regional teams, nurturing younger players, getting better themselves and bring attention to our own domestic cricket.

It is high time we shifted focus to domestic and regional cricket - like it happens in western countries where there is tremendous attention and fan following to college and regional level sports.

I look forward to the days when Indians are as excited about domestic games as they are with internationals.

Thank You,
Subbarao

Ganguly go to a TENT....not Kent
by Mudassir on Apr 20, 2005 07:24 PM

Ganguly...you may spare Kent atleast from being a liability. Look for a nice and cozy Tent and relax for the rest of your life.

Setting Kent on fire

India's overall performance in the recently concluded series has been medicore. Many big guns failed to fire but Ganguly was singled out.Suddenly there are a surfeit of cricket experts who are calling for Ganguly's head.

But these people tend to forget that Ganguly galvanised the Indian Team into a comprtitive outfit and a force to reckon with. And its a mater of time he rediscovers his magical touch

I Ganguly headed for Kent?

Sourav Ganguly is over the hill and I feel he should gracefully quit from international cricket, so that he makes way for a cricketer who is knocking the door for recognition.

Ganguly's performance in the past few series have been far from encroaching to say the least and his performance in the recent series against visiting Pakistanis was deplorable and disgusting.

Ganguly probably may be not ashamed with his performance, because he feels that by playing County cricket with Kent he may regain his form and may rejoin the Indian team as its captain. However, this is wishful thinking. I admire him for his optimism.

Captaincy of Ganguly
by himojyoti on Apr 20, 2005 02:35 PM

Whether six match ban imposed on Ganguly and subsequent rejection of his appeal was appropriate or otherwise may be debated by the players, fans and lawyers.However,Mr. Buddadev Bhattacharjee's remarks on the judgement passed on Ganguly smacks political interference and uncalled for.
