India's Defeat
by Deepak R Gupta on Apr 18, 2005 03:28 PM

The extent of India's confusion, created out of the fiasco of a resounding defeat, appear to have left the BCCI Selectors, lost speechless.
Whereas, a complete annhihilation of "Dada" could have been carried out with these last two defeats, the detractors of Sourav Gangully must rue their lost opportunity, thus offered on a platter!
The defeat also establishes the fact that Sourav is still by far the best Captain that India has ever produced - now statistically proved.
Mr. Dravid appears a poor choice, in comparison. I say this because of what we witnessed yesterday at Feroz Shah Kotla.
However, I do hope, that when and if Sourav is ever brought back, the two Captains should continue in different capacities - one as a Test Captain and the other for the One-Dayers.
The other fallacy may also have already been created -that of Dravid taking over already! If so, the above suggestion could come-in handy for the Selectors.
As oft repeated, "Form" is temporary, "Class" isn't!
Finally, Sourav Gangully's specific task (possibly as an ODI Captain)should now be to build a team of 19-20 year old youngsters and prepare them under relentless Training and Dedication for the 2007 World Cup

india's defeate at new delhi even full series by 2-4 is very shameful. we r 100 crore but could not produce best and reliable team yet.we should stop playing the shameful matches.to improve the status there must be some penalty like loss of match fee for the responsible player as well as captain. there should also be total ban on the players to enter advertisements by issuing the code of conduct. there should be no coach as australians.

Indian Cricket Teams Form
by Mohammed Samir Moosa on Apr 18, 2005 12:45 PM

Hi Friends, The Indian teams stats in the recent past show one important fact. Either they all play well or not. So it seems obvious that they have a mood swing all together. Considering this fact, we should consult all astrologers to predict the exact date on which such mood swings occur and only on those days the team would play. In this manner we can even hope of acheiving 100% success rate, which uptil now has not been possible with any team. But considering our High Brow Lords of Crickets, I would have no doubt in my mind that even this method is not fool proof. So as it is Blame it on Faith and then party as usual. Regards, Samir

Team should be critisised to the same level as we praise and encourage them when they win. Even they should be punished as we honour for their good paly.
