Ganguly to appeal again
by Jimmy on Apr 18, 2005 10:25 PM

Hope he will be banned again ... this time for excessive appealing to the ICC.
Why does he not sit silent and play some domestic cricket to get his game going. If he is smart, he would also get the opportunity to show his critics how fallible Rahul is as a captain.

Working on the making of Cricket Council Inc

To: BCCI Board Members

Are we so cheap??

Money flows from the sub continent in to the game. ICC has become rich coz of teams from sub continent. It would be really shameful for us to accept this injustice. Why only Asians are targetted. Is Glen Mcgrath, Mathew Hayden can be let off with even no warning (fine and ban is too far) for sledging when they were last on India tour. Are they anyway related to Mr Speed and co at ICC. Do they hold any special status coz they create some special entertainment for the public.. This purely shows that racism still exists inspite of the pools of money comes to the game from the sub continent. Ganguly's non performance is different ball game. But if BCCI really represents India then this is not a slap on their face but this great nation who had propogated cricket and it would not be exaggreation that we have now added new diemension to the game though it was an English game. We, sub-continent countries are the creators of this game. Hence start making new council under Cricket Council Inc headquarters in India and we should dictate the game and never be neutral on racisim. It should be "tit for tat" always.
With love
Patriotic Indian

Ganguly's Ban
by Eric on Apr 18, 2005 06:58 PM  | Hide replies

As per ICC code of conduct, I do not think Ganguly can further appeal the decision. Furthermore, I truly believe that Ganguly deserves to be banned. He was slow for sure. I remember the WC 2002 match between Pakistan and Austraila when Waqar Younis had asked Younis Khan to bowl to get through the overs faster. However, Ganguly showed no urgency neither did he employ his slow bowlers to go through the overs faster. The fielders did not hurry up taking their positions after each over either.

If Ganguly blames heat, he should also be aware that it was hotter in Kochi and Vizak where Pakistan did finish their overs on time.

From what I have noticed Ganguly over the years is that he is nothing but cry baby. I can easily compare him to a street boy who starts cursing if he is hit for a six or if he gets out.

Don't take me wrong. I respect Ganguly as a batsman. I just do not like his team management skills. Maybe its time to give him a break and make him hungry for funs. After all, he is soon going to achieve 10,000 runs feat.

ganguly is one of he gr8est players and surely the best captain that india has ever produced; but still this anti ganguly campaign goes on and on. look at what happened when dravid was made the captain in the last 2 odis vs pak. with ganguly around at least we had some respect as a cricketing nation. now we dont even have that.its time that the bengal tiger comes back at the helm again
