Ganguly appeal rejected
by bodh on Apr 18, 2005 09:47 PM

This is not the first time that India has been penalized for slow overage. Whatever thier reasons, the Indians must learn to meet thier obligations under the current regulations, and must assume a gung-ho, winning attitude instead of being merely defensive and spineless.

Cricket players should be mentally strong!
by Abhijit Parkhi on Apr 18, 2005 08:15 PM

Years after the years and matches after the matches, why INDIAN Cricket team can't make it when it's chasing the score? I think Indian team is not mentally strong, well it will make any team mad to chase such a huge score of >=300 runs, but our consistancy in terms of failing to chase the score does put question marks!

Does Indian players need to practice meditation, should they be given more security in terms of their jobs !

What's important is to win the game in mind, making sure no silly mistakes be commited at any cost, no run outs in any case! First pair must be at the crease for at least first 10 overs!

If some basics are followed consistenly then I am sure Indian team will be the best team !

Banning
by Anusha Sekar on Apr 18, 2005 04:00 PM

If you say that Ganguly should alone not be blamed for the slow over-rate then the whole team should be banned, not only for slow over-rate but also for their below par performance in the limited overs. They(Team India) should be banned for atleast a few months so that they can realise and perform well in the future as the indian team haven't being playing good cricket in ODI;s for a long time(since the Pak series in Pakistan in 2004).As I am a great fan of the entire Team India I wish them All The Best for the future games and also hope to see them achieve victory in the coming games.

Ban

It is a boon in disguise. No use of cribbing.Let Ganguly go back to the basics and correct his mistakes. If he intends to play in the World Cup 2007,he should go to play club cricket ir county oricket in England right away with or without remuneration. There will be takers definitely based on past record.

What a pity decision!!!
by paul on Apr 18, 2005 11:10 AM

ICC now become a monopoly or a MNC like microsoft. They are dictating terms. for a 3 over delay, 6 match ban is just a pity.

How they consider time for taking runs? The two matches where India took long to complete the overs and the one game where Pakistan delayed the match, all scored above 300 runs. Scoring 300 runs with a lot of sixes means it absorb too much time and effort. ICC, PLEASE LEARN THIS.

Any way what our ICC members doing their? Drinking coffee supplied by Australia and Engalnd?

Paul

Decision of ICC is unjust & unfair on Ganguly
by SOMASEKHAR V K on Apr 18, 2005 11:05 AM

These days cricket is becoming more than a sport. The game is played more outside the field rather than on it!! Buckner made a crucial mistake when he gave Sachin out and later regretted without getting penalised. Players are warned, punished for their outbursts which are but natural during any game.

The charm of cricket is slowly being lost by too much administrative interference. In any case everything was unfair in Ganguly's case. At this rate, cricket will loose its sheen as a `Gentlemen's game.
