what's actually neexded for cricket team..
by atul on Apr 18, 2005 10:59 AM

hi Prem and others
i had stopped watching match since the last world cup when india lost shamefully... but still in my heart ..cricket is like "Apne Desh ki Feeling" in front of the world.
Indian team has not lost the sunday's match against pakistan but we have ashamed our nation saying that we are fickle people like anything the way ..indian batsman lost the hope and proved themselves that they can not stand like Rocks..as Our Great gandhi was ...
In game ..lost and win is OK..but showing ur backs in adversity and that while representing our great country India ..totally abonished our belief in this cricketers....our love for cricket will not go becoz
cricket--->country ...
but we want a strict policy for cricketers that if they do not perform in 2-3 matches..they should be kicked out ..even that is sachin tendulker.or dravid...what's the use resting on past laurels or making records .....
i am software engg..and if i do not perform up to the mark ..i will be kicked out ...the same should be applied to every cricketers ....or every other human-being.pay for work should be applied ...
thanx for letting me sharing my comments..
bye

Jaago cricket lovers!!
by Ashish Khandelwal on Apr 18, 2005 10:58 AM

I feel sorry sor our Indian Team who being a superior side had to lose 4 matches in a row because of the match fixing!!! yes the fate of this series was decided last year when Indian team visited pakistan. The deal was that Pakistan has to lose both test and one day series and in exchange when pakistan team will visit India they can settle the score by winning both the series. All this had to do with the then coming elections and BJP's feel good factor. I earned Rs. 50,000/- that year and this year I earned Rs. 70,000/- by betting, and believe me i didnt lose in any match. My cricket craze has long fizzled out but i dont know when the common Cricket lover will understand this fact that what we are watching are just plays not matches!! Jaago

Our Indian Cricket Team..
by Jas on Apr 18, 2005 10:50 AM

My dear Fellow Indian Brothers,

This Indian Team is bringing shame to our Country.

I don't understand why we bring all the Cricket Players on TV. They get so much money from Advertisements & Sponsors, that playing a cricket
match does not hold any importance to them, because
their bellies are satisfied upto the brink.

We need Hungry Cricketers to win matches. To win matches, you need the desire to WIN.

If you don't have the desire to Win, then your talent, experience, etc etc has no meaning.

Please stop making Indian Cricketers our Heroes on TV. That where we start to spoil their Career & our
countries name

Its a shame, pity to our Country.

HUH !!

JAS..

Down with ICC
by Meeta Sanyal on Apr 18, 2005 10:08 AM

ICC is responsible for the India's defeat. If they are so keen to impose ban on Ganguly then they should had imposed on the next coming one day series instead of the current matches going on.Does any board has the guts to do this to any other white Batsmen for banning him from playing 6 one day matches ? Secondly our Ex cricketers and irresponsible media contributed to India's downfall.
By continuing criticizing Ganguly in non stop manner they made him more nervous. He is a human being not an god or divine person .
Ganguly is responsible for his batting and not for the entire teams bad performance.Pakistan team does not have stars but all give good contribution and this is what team should be.
Indian team is a talented team and what is required is that they should be given time and for heaven sake let us leave them alone to themselves.
Thirdly no more ads. The cricketers of nowdays are getting good amount from the cricket and hence they should stop doing ads.Gone are the past days when the crickets got few amount of money and had to look for other occupation for the survival.

Indian Team- Where players are bigger than nation
by Ashish Raj Singh on Apr 18, 2005 09:10 AM

Yes this has been proven so many time and this is not an exception. The current sprrit of indian team teachs a lesson all the youngsets who has a dream of reprensenting india. what u all have to do is work hard and very hard to find a place in indian team and once u get there just think abot money and forget abot performance. BCCI (an impotent body) just adds big names in indian cricket team. Indian cricket team is all about money everyone wants to make money. There are no words to describe current indian performance. The only good thing that can happen to indian team is all the shameless seniors players taking a break from cricket or the impotent body, deciding to drop those money makers. I know neither of this is possible coz indian players are bigger than team.
god bless indian cricket fans.

Poor Bowling cost the series
by Sundar, Chennai on Apr 18, 2005 09:09 AM

Indians lost the series, because of their toothless bowling attack.
The Australians over the years were more successful because of their consistency in bowling and fielding. In contrary, Indian slumped because of the same reason. I would like share my views, on some of the Indian bowlers.
L.Balaji: Lot was expected of him, but couldn't deliver. Has no clues to Afridi assault.
Nehra: Very much a rhythm bowler. Perform well in his comeback match, but after that he was pathetic with his line and length.
Kumble: Nothing to say about Indias highest wicket taker. Rated as a bowler for his accuracy, started his spell with a knee high full toss to Afridi!
H.Singh: The doosra controversy is still on his mind, which affected his performance.
Zaheer: India's most effective bowler in this series. He managed to be economical, but could get wickets at crucial times. Seems to have forgotten his leathal Yorkers.
With Such a performance from the mainline bowlers, how can you expect to win the series...It can happen only against Minnows!

India loses
by Gunjan on Apr 18, 2005 08:34 AM

Hi all ,

Here is another pathetic performance by Team India and since I am in USA i dont really feel the way guys are feeling in India as I have not wasted my time and money.

just to talk about a couple of things here, its high time we should realise that indian cricket is ruined by the corporate/money/politics/nepotism/favortism etc etc.Nowhere in this world amongst the cricket playing nations I have seen the people being fooled in such fashion.AUS , SouthAfrica , England does not have the Pepsi cup so often as it is in the indian subcontinent and that has a lot to do with the performance of the players who are promoting the cola brands. In order to fool people and reap money these salesmen (batsman ,bowlers) have to entertain Indian public and they can please only when tracks are dead , placid ,flat so that they can hit and entertain the public looking for sum fun. These same people look so helpless even if their is a little bit of unfaorable conditions.
I think that these corporates have a lot of say in the way the pitches are made (full of runs) to entertain the public. Its high time that we should realize the damage done and choose all fresh talents.

Gunjan
