The only reason Pakistan has been winning is because of positive aggressive cricket they play.
I hate to say but we need like 11 sehwags if we ever want to win against pakistan again. Paki's have amazing spirit while batting, there theory is to get a boundary each over irrespective of their style of batting even younis khan tries ot hit with great running between wickets, and they always attack the bowlers without reputation of bowler. even in australia (as told by greg chappell) children are taught from the school cricket to look for a single every 2 balls and hit a boundary every over thats why they are such a successful team, notice this whenever Aussies play anywhere in the world on any wicket.
but indian batsmen are more of boundary hitters can't or don't wanna rotate strike except for kaif, yuvraj and dravid, but kaif and dravid can't hit over the top. prime e.g. laxman creating unnneccessary pressure on themselves to strike a boundary since don't run singles and in the process lose their wicket once settled.
i'm sure if kumble and harbhajan would be in pakistan team and indian batsmen had to play them india would play very carefully and not attack
one cannot live still in the past agreed that ganguly has done a lot for himself and the team with the support of dalmia.
But please do not mention that the board has not groomed to take over the captaincy from gangualy,Mr. Rahul Dravid is best suited for the current circumstances. Or else we have much experienced Sachin Tendulkar to take the responsibility.
Why is that people do not justify the game rather than being regionalistic.
It is very unfortunate that we are the losing side. The BCCI is totally depends on senior players but they are repeatedly failing. When ever the team wins only on the basis of juniors in the team. The what is the use of Seniors in the team. Give opportunity to youngsters like Rayudu,Raina .Uttappa those give the their 100% to the team. Our current players are alwasy busy with making money---- in advertisements and fasion shows. Shame on our current players. Ban the players who endorse the products.
Well I suppose the livid indian supporters might have cooled down by now. It is sad to note that neither the supporters nor the indian players seem to be in touch with reality. If Sachin, Viru, Dhoni and everyone in the team is to score well in every match, then India should be totalling 1000 in every match. That is not possible. We must be happy that dravid and kaif played sensible innings and had brought in the much needed respectable total. Cricket is a team game and failures of some players will be part of it at all times. The fans must understand it, instead of blowing their top. If they decide to blame Saurav yesterday, Sachin today and Viru/Dhoni tom'ow, it is not going to help Indian Cricket.
And if we are to analyse the Kanpur ODI, it is quite eveident that but for one mad, mad, unorthodox innings by a man named "Afridi", nobody, let me repeat nobody, could master the pitch. Afridi saved 56 balls for pakistan and they won with 47 balls to spare.
Having said this, I must admit that Indian Bowling was quite ordinary. If afridi was hiking every ball that was bouncing, why were they not attacking his body or bowling yorkers? Intelligent cricket was definitely missing.
Indians have lost thier team spirit, which clearly indicates on thier performance in the recent ODI's. Literally there was no coordination among the Indian Cricketers, either in fielding nor bowling. I wont blame on Indian Batting, sicne it was a slow track we considerably scored a good sum, despite our poor bowling and fielding. I strongly feel that kumble can be used only for Test matches, since we have extracted his talents for a long run, Its turn for the young bloods like Murali Karthik, Bajji. They should be given more opportunity to mould them to world class Spinners. I request BCCI to consider these comments in mind n develope a strong Indian Squad. Last but not least, Indian squad should be given a pep talk on Team Spirit to level the series.
It seems Indian team has forgetten the basics of cricket,like BOWLING WICKET TO WICKET,BOWL SLOW,YORKERS etc.Sachin sould be out of team and give a chance for new young guys.Kumble should take retirement form one dayers.For 2007 world cup,we need young & fresh energetic guys.Team India is lacking Killing & Winning Instinct.After first 2 one dayers they thought they are on top of world,but pakistan fought back bravely,and proved no one can be complacent.Pakistan has not won matches,its INDIA who has gave them.They cannot defend 301 and 249,,THEY SHOULD LEARN FIGHING SPIRIT FROM AUSTRALIA & SAF.In kochi match Indian bowls on leg side & give easy singles @ 6Run per over,wihtout any difficulty,,they didnt defend any singles,which made paki batsman no to take any risk & won the game.Indian bowling lacks wicket taking balls,they were defending.Why cant Indian team Ask Kapil DEV,to be bowling coach or Consultant ,Politics will spoil Indian cricket.Dhoni should be more consistent.Bowling on leg side & full toss will not help to win matches for you.For Players like Afridi bowl stump to stump,or good outswinger nothing of these seen in kanpur matches.will India wake up & level series.
