ICC rulebook says...
by Jay on Apr 15, 2005 12:26 AM

Hey there,
It is interesting to read the rules, but it would be even more interesting to compare the reasons explained (if any) for considering that India's over rate was slow. I mean they must have said that the captain/team wasted time by doing blah blah when they handed out the ban.

Personally, on watching India's bowling in the match I feel that even though at the end it turns out that we took longer than we should have, at any point I didn't feel that Ganguly was wasting time. So I would like to read the instances where the referee felt that he was. Anyways, I hope that the Appeals Commissioner uses his "discretion".

Action for wrong decisions
by KPRABHAKAR on Apr 14, 2005 11:28 PM

Yes. We accept ICC's rules and regulations and umpires and match referee's decisions based on such laws, rules and regulations. Now, tell me is there any code of conduct and rules & regulations for the actions to be taken against the umpires and match referee's for taking wrong decisions and are they implemented and when? This is a high time now we should start taking actions for every wrong decisions taken by the umpires and specially when they are taken against the Asians. I have not heard, in recent past, that such actions are taken against the players from any other major test playing nations. Most of the decisions are taken against the Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lank ans and West Indies players and what they are trying to do is the demoralise the players. In future, We should be watchful and take more care of our players and point out such incidents, where they are not taking any actions or avoiding it.
