Ganguly not playing in kanpur was expected. How long can one keep a captain without performance and only adding fines from the ICC for slow overrate ?IN fact, his list of fines is longer than the number of ODI;s centuries he has made. He should gracefully accept that he is not in form and withdraw himself, play domestic cricket, regain form and get back intio the team rather trying to gatecrashin. Is he under pressure from the sponsor to play, so that he is exposed for their cause?
The way everyone was barking at Ganguly, forgetting, now IDIOLISED Dravid,whose list of FAILURE in 2000/01,(i.e.:1,33,12,35,06,09,14,29,0,22,37,17,18,28) had had all the Braying EX-perts out with their degrading critisism,so much so that the poor guy had to ball as well!! Was he dropped?? No way.The Lion hearted Skipper that he is,Saurav stood by him & the RESULT? Well Rahul scored: 41 n.o.,200 n.o.,70 n.o., 162, 09, 39,25,180,81.Saurav also needs that kind of support, from his team mates as well as the Entire Nation. Acording to my BELIEF: What Gandhiji had done for the Nation,UNITING ALL THE PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT STATES AS PROUD INDIANS,& Not merely as Bengalis, Punjabis, Marathis,Tamils etc.,Saurav has also INSTILLED the Same Feeling in the Team which in turn has made them into a Strong, Proud & Winning Team!! There will always be these braying Elements who would rathar go after Saurav,denouncing him publicly while Pakisthanis are here,forgetting Conviniently that The Man has scored over 15,000 run & only a few runs away from his 10,000 runs in ODI! Its useless to keep such a player(Ganguly) in the side, other players like Dinesh mongia should be given a chance who comes good with the bat and also with his tight off spinners.
no one is as successful as sourav ganguly. For those who r very keen to replace him, r they forgetting that how many runs did wadekar, the the most successful captain score? or pataudi? its not abt runs, its abt captaincy. ganguly is the best. so he must play.
I think, like some of us, that even though Ganguly is elegible to play the match in Kanpur, he shouldn't play. He needs to discuss the matter with the BCCI first because if he plays, all these things that brings pressure to him as a captain may affect his play even more. Although his poor performance doesn't affect the Indian batsmen, he should let the rest of the team to find a way to victory. Dravid can come out to be a good leader of the team along with Sehwag. But then, its the bowling attack that needs some repairs not batting since all batsmen are in good form except Ganguly. Also, I do not understand why the selectors called Sriram instead of Laxman. Laxman can be a great asset for the team. All one expects in the next two matches is VICTORY TO INDIA!
it is better for ganguly to retire from international cricket if the selectors are not ready to remove him from the team. ganguly got a lot chances past days . if u give these much chances to an average renji player they will make their mark in at least two or three innings. so please retire from cricket and give a chance to others
