Ban will benefit Ganguly
by Shantanu on Apr 22, 2005 10:43 PM

I think that Ganguly has been playing continuously since a long time and he needs some rest. He needs to think about his weaknesses and try and overcome them. I think that the ban might help him.

It's not the end of Ganguly......
by Ankur Girdhar on Apr 14, 2005 02:05 PM

Sourav Ganguly is the best left hander that India has produced. How can a bad phase be the indiacation of his career's end?The unfortunate thing that has happened is that this phase is not getting over for him. But,instead of criticizing him, support should be lent to him. This is the same person who played that unforgettable innings of 183 in the World Cup and he is still capable of repeating it.What he needs is a big innings and there is no bigger chance than playing it against the arch rivals. So,I think that this ban is not going to benefit him as he is bound for a big score which can easily come in the remaining two innings of this series.See his confidence after that much awaited moment comes..........

nobody gets better sitting at home
by aurindam on Apr 14, 2005 12:13 PM

The simple thing is "nobody gets better sitting at home". Psychologists may have their own ideas about the whole affair of tension, pressure and relaxation but as long as Ganguly does not spend time in the middle he will not get his confidence back. And confidence is the only think that is missing right now otherswise we all know about the talent that he possesses.

ban on ganguly !
by murugan on Apr 14, 2005 10:15 AM

yes, i am sure that ganguly will not go for appeal against ICC ban on him. he will make advantage of it. And also its better for him to do more practice on the department of batting, to regain the name "skipper".

Most of the ex-cricketers and public want the same, exclusion of ganguly (who is performing very badly in the last four ODIs against Pakistan) for the upcoming matches.

at the end i can say that "God is really great" !!!
our prayer didnt get wasted !!!

Its nice to see Dravid as captain, coz he has the potential to be a successful captain! all the best for dravid.

Big Blow
by Premjith A C on Apr 14, 2005 09:54 AM

The ban on Ganguly is a big blow on the fortunes of his career and also the Indian cricket team.
This is a cruel world which has never been thankful and helped people who deserved it.
There was a time in 2000 when Indian cricket was going no where and then came an arrogant 'gentle'man who had his own ideas, positive attitude and a wonderful sense of details of the game. Blessed with his attitude and good streak of luck, he carried the burden of leading the most popular sport of the largest democracy of the world. Mind you,its pressure cooker

Most of the stars of current Indian team owe to this man who showed faith in their abilities even when no one else did. The team which used to snatching defeat from the jaws of defeat started to think that the game was alive till the last bowl is bowled. And its result was evident by the way India made its comeback against South Africa during Champions Trophy in Srilanka, the Natwest final victory in England etc.
Now it is time for the team and country to pay back. Give the man his due. Cricket is a game where the captains role is vital. Let him focus on his captaincy and the confidence you give him there will reflect in his performance
