RAGHUNATH BHATT
captain selection
by RAGHUNATH BHATT on Apr 13, 2005 09:03 AM

I am felt bad the dession was taken of appointing Dravid as captain for 2 matches. The BCCI might select any other person for captain. The BCCI is looking to hat Dravid with their shelfiessness. Only one player at any time play with confidence that is onli Dravid.

What a better way to get out of the team
by cheez_m on Apr 13, 2005 01:50 AM

Saurav thinks and he thinks hard. He very well planned his exit from the team (atleast the series). Any decisions from selection committee and Sauravs own would have been in a bad taste. Even after continuing warnings he kept the slow bowling rate and earned the axe he was looking for. May be he uses the "time-off" to regain his form. A in-form Saurav will always be welcomed back. Let Dravid beat the pakis first.

Ridiculous to drop Irfan..
by Ramki on Apr 12, 2005 11:10 PM

Dropping Irfan is a horrendous decision.. What will it do to his confidence? Just a few months back, he was the best paceman in the team. BCCI has a responsibility to justify this move. (Of course, not with false claims that he is injured)
And also, how does Agarkar merit a place in the side ahead of Pathan?

Is it Blessing in disguise
by Deepak K on Apr 12, 2005 11:08 PM

Could this well be a blessing in disguise for India. We can get in a batsman who can really score runs. And a captain who shows faith in his team.

Laxman???
by ramki on Apr 12, 2005 09:58 PM

I was watching the century that Laxman scored against australia on TV only today morning. Wonder what wrong he has done that Sriram has to be included ahead of him... Not correct...

Rahul
one good catch and one worse blow!
by Rahul on Apr 12, 2005 09:51 PM

Taking kumble in was the best move selectors took, but placing irfan out was the worst move..i dunno, why irfan was put out for todayz match and also he is not even in the squad in the next match.everyone has seen his superb swinging deliveries and his extra-ordinary batting.itz worse to hear..taking SRIRAM is of NO USE! i think, dinesh mongia is the right option in place of saurav or even SADAGOPPAN RAMESH! once,he was a great player, but he was put down due to small failures..WHATEVER..even,IRFAN IS BETTER THAN SAURAV IN BATTING.

Because sourav need some rest now. anyway he got it through nice way. India can try besat with captaincy of rahul dravid. He is in a very good form & full team will give support to him

Thas not good
by Brijesh Negi on Apr 12, 2005 09:36 PM

Well i think ganguly is in the worst phase of his carrier , no doubt he is the best captain for Team India , and i still admire him because of his leadership skills. after failing with Bat continuously , this ban would be really a nightmare for him, ganguly has shown his leadership skills ample times as far as "Team India" concern. i think ICC is very strict with the Asian teams ..rather than other teams ..six match ban will be a great setback for ganguly who is already going through the worst part of his cricketing carrier. .ICC should rethink about their decision.
All the best Ganguly...we are with You...
