It would appear that either Polly Umrigar or the guys who interviewed him have erroneously mentioned the name of the Australian batsman of yesteryears Ken Mckay alongside Gilchrist and Wes Hall. Mckay was a batsman and not a great one at that. He night have bowled occasionally as a change bowler. He certainly was no bowler of merit, and certainly not a pace bowler.
