Graded payments from October

Also, if any player is involved in 31 Tests or 10 ODIs during a year, he would be offered a Grade C contract, Dalmiya said.

I think its "3" tests and not 31 ...

Oh No!! Graded Payment system!!!

Its nice to hear that our crickters will be getting a regular salary. But its only the top 17-20 who will be benefitted. Its the end of the road for the other 300 odd cricketers who play professional cricket in India. At the same time the 20 crickters who will getting a good pay for one year will be more relaxed and take the game lightly. This would result in a serious and steady decline in their performance for the first 8-10 months of the year and then perform in the remaining two months so as to be retained in the side for one more year. The other crickters will also lose faith in the system and quit cricket in the Ranji levels and the junior ones will not be entertained to pursue cricket. This system might have been a success in other countries but with the kind of mentality Indians have towards any damn thing they pursue will make this graded system a total failure. The BCCI too will be hesitant to try new faces before the contract for any player ends and they existing players will perform better in the final 2-3 months before the contract ends and thus reatin their position in the side. This will act as vicious circle and would eventually see a decline of cricket in India.

Woe

So now that the players have been given so much money, all they need to do is feign an injury, travel all over the world with the team, have fun and lose matches. Heck, this is better than a government job. No responsibility yet a fat pay packet. Dalmia, it seems, does not have any blueprint for the team WINNING tournaments.

Reading this report i feel the A B C Levels never change for a years togather. Players who do not play well are still featuring the Level A Why? still they get the high pay... So they can just do nothing to the country and get get paid high amount 50,00,000/- If a player does not perform well in a year why he is still given Grade A why? Why Me. Shewag Still in A Grade ? these player still stands in the Past score which are too old today... sorry its a waste of moneyThese players must be Pushed to Atleast
B grade But this never happense in Indian Cricket the grade never change for years why?
