Are the Aussies mentally ready?
by Berjis on Sep 26, 2004 06:02 PM

In his interview Gilchrist has made an imp point that the Aussies are mentally stronger on this occasion. But are they really? On the last tour it seemed as if their batsmen were always in a hurry and were too over aggressive and tried to win the mental battle against the Indian spinners. It didn't work. Of course the Laxman Dravid Show in Kolkata was the turning point. They will not have forgotten that. At the back of their mind they would be thinking that something like that is always possible again. Both sides will not have a key player for the 1st test. It appears even but I still feel that India are the fav. It is more a battle of mind and belief rather than talent which both sides have plenty of. If Gilchrist and Ponting can make their men believe that they can win and if they play without trying to prove too much and forget abt the 'Final Frontier' then they can get the result they have been waiting for for 35 years. May the best team win.

Well prepared

There is absolutely no doubt that the Australian team is better prepared for the coming series.Infact all teams are better prepared before a big series than the Indian team as far as playing is concerned. Our team remains ever prepared for commercials at all times.

These Clowns

Australians make me laugh by their stupidities. For upcoming test series, at one hand they say "but it is not the be all and end all of our cricketing careers. We can't concentrate all our life on one event" then in the same breath they show the huge thrist of winning the series in India for last 12 months. They lie about Indian cricketers undermining them and talk mighty big about themselves. When Hayden broke the world record( laughing aloud against Zimbawe) he was the greatest batsmen in the world. When Lara restablished the record, he is too selfish. They claim they are stronger now and still they lose to England(ICC). They dont support technical use of umpiring decision because the decisions are given in their favor. When the decision go against them they cry and holler and the umpire gets the boot ( Ashok Desilva), nothing happend to Steve Buckner because decision were not against Australia ( India in Australia, the last test series). This team is good but not better then Indian Team. The deciding factor in upcoming test series will be umpiring decisons, which is the only way Australia can win or save humiliation in INDIA.
