Stop Ganguly
by Sameer on Sep 26, 2004 04:25 PM

Alongwith Ganguly,Dravid,Tendulkar and Kumble are the senior players.See their commitment,Tendulkar is evr improving bowler. No matter,he is not what he was in 98,but then when he is on go,the whole team
gets inspired and the other simply finds itself in a totally helpless stage-the prime example being the world cup, where he lifted his game and the moral of the whole team.Rahul Dravid,he has done whatever he could have, done wicketkeeping, have gone down changed his defensive approach to aggressive when required.Gangulys game fails to lift the moral of team as well as spectators. The fact is when a youngster is going thru rough patch,say-Yuvraj or
Sehwag-Ganguly has not been able to motivate them.He can't,bcoz he himself is worthless, how can he motivate somebody. When in form, any captain will admire the players, maybe the captain would be less vocal than Ganguly, but that simply doesn't matter. What matters is what he says in Dressing room, not in press conferences,I feel so.Has it been any other country,Ganguly would have been long shown the door asked to play for Bengal, get some runs and form and come back to ODI. Don't make Cricket politics.Prove urself then come back,u r welcome!!

Fraud Ganguly

Ganguly is a useless player in the team. He can bat against team like Kenya. He is only usefull in team as a captain neither as batsman nor as a bowler. Ganguly should be replaced by Rahul Drevid.

Nurture ajit agarkar's potential
by sameer rathi on Sep 25, 2004 01:41 PM

Its high time that sourav along with other senior man in the squad should nurture ajit agarkar's talent. we have seen how wel this man can bat, its jst a matter of confidence. Ideally he should be batting at No.3 in one dayers with the batting talent he has. No point is shouting for an allrounder when u already have one , wat u need is nurturing this young mumbaikar.

Ganguly must be joking..

Is he insane to say something like that? Dravid still doesn't know the basics of where to stand during a run out situation. He is woefully inadequate. How can he say Dravid is the best in one dayers. It is high time Ganguly is shown the door as he refuses to inject new blood for some reasons. If he thinks he is settling score with some selectors India is the one which will suffer in the long run. Dravid should refuse to keep. Poor guy.

Shut up & play..

Saurav Ganguly looks like an intelligent man but he is hell bent on proving all of us wrong by opening his mouth. He should realise that the patience of all & sundry is running out fast. He is proving himself as nothing but a obstinate man but insisting on Dravid to keep wickets. He should fast realise & take clue from Inzy, Ponting, Vaughan that a Captain is not just required to be a good speaker but be a good player foremost. The next time he talks about his team having performed well in the last 2 years, I am sure some reporter will give him a smack across his face. 2 years is a long time, my friend. He sounds idiotic by saying that playing positions is not important & winning only is. How the hell does he expect to win without a coherent strategy or clue about slotting. I think its time he is given the marching orders. Now the next question is who should lead. I think it should be Sachin. He must surely have matured with this break & his indispensability should have no doubters now. Besides there is nobody in this world who woudl disagree that he is the greatest talent which translates into performance in the field.

Wicket keeping is a specialist job. It is like bowling or batting. Batting is a bonus. You have a player who got 37 ODI hundreds, a player who got 22 ODI hundreds and a player who got involved in two 300 plus partnership. With these players at the top of the order why are you depending on No.7 Batsman? It is such a shame that they depend on No.7 with 6 good players at the top of the order. What happens if the Dravid is injured? You lose a great batsman and a wicket keeper. We should have got someone ready by now in such eventuality. This is the right time to groom a keeper with Dravid, Ganguly and Sachin in their early 30s. 6 Batsmen are more than enough to bat 50 overs in a one dayer. Pathan and Bhajji can bat well too if situation demands. Ganguly has absolutely no vision at all.

Ridiculous

Ganguly is just blindly justifying his selection of Dravid for keeper!! Which player who is getting into the team because dravid is doubling up as keeper has won a match for india?? Nobody!!! Then why waste dravid's effort on the keeping??? especially when you have a youngster who is definetly a better keeper than dravid!! Cmon....anybody who has kept wickets for more than 5 years is by default better than a part time bloke like dravid. Let dravid do what he does best....BAT!! Ganguly is just covering up his tracks and going around town telling all that dravid is the best keeper for the team!! ideally dinesh karthik should be the keeper......give him a chance damnit!!

Dear sirs,

Kudos to Ganguly for saying the best man will keep wickets; meaning Rahul drawid will continue to perform this duty in ODIs. Who is that in the crowd asking all stupid questions like what will happen if you don't develop a good keeper in due course when Dravid becomes unavailable? Shut up , you far thinking individual! You must think of only the present but should be talking about developing a team for the future. Then only our Ganguly Dada can boast of his captaincy record for years on from now. Well done Ganguly! You keep up your thinking on this aspect; you have another one intelligent vice-captain and one foreign coach , who is also thinking of his present time so as to get extension of contrac, who will be 'yes men' for you and for your ideas. You don't worry about future team for India. We want you to concentrate to win as much so that we can also join the crowd yelling you were the best captain. Selectors!!? Don't worry. Mr. Dalmia is there , your own State man, to keep them under his thumb. Carry on with this attitude and if you dont win any game , we can pass the buck to others. We Indians are very good at that. Congratulations to you
