Not again! I believe this 'ambush' marketing clause is horrible, and a clear breach of individual players' rights. As a marketing practise, it is against fair competition. ICC here is guilty too, as it is trying to use its bullying power to command a premium for the ads.
Hutch has to realize that if Ganguly and Pathan is to be withdrawn from the Indian team because of their marketing rights, they will have to take the hit on their operations in India, because the Indian public will now react. They can not wish Tata indicom away, and hurting indian players who have posed for their ads will only add to animosity.
I think the cricket loving public should join hands and be ready to file a PIL restraining both Hutch [and other monopolists] and ICC [and other bullies] from affecting cricket any longer.
