When a voting panel that comprised 10 full-ICC member captains, 8 elite panel ICC umpires, 7 elite panel ICC referees and 25 former cricketing legends and members of the media decides by majority vote that Murali does not deserve an ICC award why is the BCCSL blaming the ICC and alleging racism etc. ? If that's the case, how come Vaas is included in both Test & One-day teams ? All this simply confirms what most of the cricketing world has suspected all along - that Murali does chuck the cricket ball and very few of his contemporaries acknowledge that he's one of the world's best bowlers. Stop whining, Ranatunga and co and get on with it.

Murli is already recognized !!
by Tapas on Sep 09, 2004 06:53 PM

due to his action and controversy ...
and (give him credit yaar) for his 500+ wickets (lets not get into the same action argument again) ...

If you are so disappointed about not being "recognized", i see that as lack of confidence and a doubt about your own ability (and action?) :)

I was disappointed not to see Murali's name in the World-XI. The ICC is racist for the fact that it included Warne who took about 35 wickets in one year as against 85 wickets by Murali. If you are considering the performance of players for a period of one year as the criteria for selection, then how could you include Shane Warne, who was banned for most part of the year? Don't worry Murali; you are a champion bowler, and you gonna be the highest wicket-taker in the world.

ICC Trophy

Congratulations to ALL the Winners of the inaugural Year Awards. A Special one to Rahul Dravid. If some one things a 50 member Voting Academy could give a lop sided verdict his head needs to be examined! Why should any Officials show surprise after the Awards have been anounced? Sri Lankan Board Officials can't behave like this particularly when their Board is affiliated to the ICC.

It is very bad of ICC to have not including murli in ther world XII, when we all know he is one of the best bowlers of all time,
I smell racism for including shane warne and dropping out murli
